Milton Union's catcher slides into home and gets her METAL cleat stuck in the dirt and breaks her ankle. It was very nasty. It is to bad, she is a Senior and is a great catcher. We at Oakwood wish her a quick recovery. I heard that she accepted a full ride to college on a R.O.T.C. scholarship.

That is sad Scott. We hope she is back in action as fast as possible.
Tippecanoe had a JV player slide and the metal cleat "stuck" but luckily it was only a very bad sprain. ?

I am all for the metal cleats but it seems girls will have to practice sliding more to avoid an injury.

Great game. Lebanon overcomes some fielding mishaps and a 6-1 Greenville lead by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th and 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th (Alex Machen 2 run home run) for the victory. Faith Tessmer started and Bethany Campbell finished for Lebanon.

lawman it was a great game and it looked like both teams had some fielding mishaps. The routine ground ball that was hit to centerfield in the bottom of the 5th bounced completly over the GreenWave centerfielders head to allow all 4 runs to score. Just the way the ball bounces sometimes and not taking anything away.

I hope that they find a way to get the game in that was rained out in Greenville earlier this season between these two fine teams. It would be a shame if they did not. Maybe they can get together at the University of Dayton field again like they did last year.

Ohio Wave,

That was a difficult bounce in centerfield. On one hand I think that the pitching on both sides was better than the score indicated, but on the other hand some of the fielding problems were caused by hard hit balls.

Sounds like there were quite a few injuries in the games today. Colerain had an injury today while Hamilton had two injured. Must be a full moon? Wishing all the girls a quick recovery.
