I sit here typing this laughing about things today I saw at our clinic for the kids in our league from 4 and up and it once again reminded me of why we do it...

in the group with 4/5 year olds....

One had cool red ruby cleats and someone said nice shoes.... 5 others chime in "look at my shoes"

Another when asked what position do you like playing..... "Cheerleading"

Another when told how to hold ?a bat ... "what happened to your leg?"

Another after a run to first base... "I'm tired, are we done?"

Another... I got grass on my knee can you wipe it?

Another when heading back to the end grouping for information was stopping and taking dirt and rubbing it on and putting it in her socks...

And the usual one ?I gotta go to the bathrom and then Me too , me too, me too....

It was great to have over 170 kids at this today and the future of softball looks bright Gang!

A softball clinic for 4/5 year-old girls? I hope they use whiffle balls. Parents are paying money for this? I'm calling my broker and putting everything into the company that makes those little pink gloves that light up.

I think it is a good idea. ?$occer has a league for 5 yr olds. ?This is a good way to plant the seeds of softball in some young minds and keep them out of the clutches of the communist sport. ;D

Totally free and run by the Darby HS team players, for the girls that decide to come to it. The league has over 700 players and today's group was one of the largest we've had in a while for the clinic.

Be it a girl at age 4 or a girl at age 18, it's all about the smile from ear to ear!

Very sweet post Hilliarddad. ?:)

And I totally wish they would have had those pink mitts that light up when my girl started. ?Heck, I'd get her one now if they made 'em for older princesses. ? ;) ;D

Thanks Hilliarddad!
I think we need to look with those eyes at our girls who are a little older as well. We start getting so intense with our girls before they even hit their teens. We should all stop once in a while and remember that they are still young girls having fun playing a game.

that is too cool!

littlestatman had his first go-round with sock-er, 4 year old mini academy...coach rolls the ball, sends 2 kids to retrieve, turn ball arund and score drill, so littlestatman bowls over some poor kid, kicks it away and scores..he even gave a high shoulder when he had control of the ball...he's a yellow card waiting to happen! i'm wondering what will happen when i put a bat in his hand for T-ball
