Toledo Area New Indoor Facility

FAST/Wizard has signed a 3 year lease with a 5 year option to open a new indoor softball facility in Holland (close to the CYO and Homecoming fields). The new facility will have at least one infield and plenty of pitching and hitting lanes.
We are in conversation with a national recognized pitching instructor to give lessons at this facility.
We also have a number of RVP hitting instructors on staff.
This facility will open this summer for year round use for any softball players. We will be conducting several softball clinics for all ages as well as coaching clinics.

Is the area going to be large enough to play nine player games and tourneys? Or infield only, similar to the batters box?

No to the 9 on 9.... maybe we can do the 6 on 6 like Doug Gillis has up in Michigan.
We are looking into a second facility which may be able to accomodate the 9 on 9 but that would be a year or two away.
Thanks for asking....

Fast,

Will you be posting the clinic and pitching lesson info on your FAST webpage, or will you be having a new one for this facility? In other words, how can we find out about all the happenings at this facility?

Also, thanks for being so committed to girls softball...we desperately needed a facility like this (wish it was bigger!!! ;D) in NWO--we have lots of players here that want to play year round.

Information will be posted at www.fastsoftball.org as they are finalized.
We will be looking at a secondary facility, maybe larger next year to serve other geographic area in NW Ohio.
We are looking for corporate sponsorship for these facilities which will result in us promoting the corporations.
This is just the start of more things to come from your friends at FAST/Wizards.
I do want to emphasize that this facility will be open to all softball players regardless of the program. We are also committed to improving our competition. I did hear that girls were threatened with being blackballed from another organization if they attended our clinics this past Winter. I certainly hope that it was a false rumor.

I really hope Parents, Players and Coaches get behind this and support not only the Fast/Wizards program but ALL programs in NWO. This is a GREAT oppertunity for ALL fastpitch players to play and practice one of the best games to be a part of. Thanks Martin and Karen ;) for all you do.....

Wait! Did I just read that there was a rumor of kids being blackballed for attending clinics? I also hope that is not true, I am sure most parents would not allow themselves to be strong-armed, there are plenty of other teams and organizations that only want their players to get better regardless of what clinics that go to.

Now that really starts my day off bad... I did not hear about "that" organization blackballing. So maybe egos get in the way of common sense.
Trust me, anytime any of our players can benefit from going to any clinics, go for it..... and I don't care if it's the Arizona Wildcats.
We also do not recruit players from other organization to switch sides. We have 25 teams already, trust me, I don't want any more....however, we will continue to put teams together if the demand is there. We also do not recruit coaches from other organizations. We believe in developing our own "best" players and coaches.
I have hugged more than one player that I have known for years who was wearing another program's shirt. I have spent hours giving advice on softball and scholarships to parents and players from other organizations when they ask. In our eyes, they are little girls playing a game... hopefully none of us ever lose sight on that.

Hopefully about 40 miles or so south! The Findlay area could use it bigtime.

Martin, everyone associated with the sport should remember that. . . I think most do. :)

Good luck with your new facility.

Fast,
Love your philosophy ... help ALL the girls. Yes I think we need some "elite" teams, but every girl should get a chance. Keep it up !!
