[quote author=Ralphie Cifaretto link=1207072534/75#96 date=1207752951] Bottom line get bigger faster stronger and move the corner players back they will keep their teeth longer!

How do you propose we do that? :-?That is not something that can be changed. In a year you might be able to make a girl a little stronger and a little faster but not always some of that is genetic. And bigger these girls are getting way big at a young age as it is. I have come across 10 and 11U girls bigger than me. So that is where the gameface comes in handy.....protection against the hard hits to the face.

My point here is at the old age groups the girls must bet better defensively in order to play further back. College players dont play 20 feet away they play back and are just bigger faster athaletes so they are able to make the plays.

Withought making this too long this is my problem with softball some times when less competitive teams play better teams the pitching is somewhat weaker and its a ball smashing sesson for 90 min. Corner players are in a shooting gallery. Plus the other thing is as a defensive player watch the batter and the type of bat their using. If a 3 4 or 5 hitter comes up and there swinging a rockettech or miken, theres no reason to play up!

Know your batters keep your teeth!

Better well rounded teams can play back, yonger players have to play close!

gymnastics, soccer, and basketball all have 2-5 times higher injury ratio's to teenage girls. I just read a study on ACL injuries to girls and they only mentioned those sports, not softball. I know nothing about the rules in those sports but are they changing them due to injury ratio? or is it because of the type of injury in softball vs that injurries are accpeted in gymnastics and soccer? curious
