It is my intentions to completely separate the state tournaments based on age groups and not have all of them at one site on the same weekend.

It is my plans (under construction as we speak) to make the state tournament sites available to all sections of this State.

If you, as I listen to the people of softball, have any suggestions at all for a place to hold a state tournament in the northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest and central ohio and can suggest any park you might know that is a wonderful park with good people... please post the name of the complex and the person to contact and I do and will listen to my friends, the teams.

Looking for location in Northeast Ohio immediately.

Cities so far asked to hold a state tournament:

Ohio : ?Lancaster, Zanesville, Wheelersburg and Sims Valley, Wilmington, Goshen Marysville, Greenville

Kentucky: ?Carrolton, Maysville, Lexington

Most in NorthWest Ohio really like the CYO fields and Rolf Park. I see that you mention Bowling Green.

The only issue that I have seen this year is the track record for clearing the fields at Carter Park. I know of 2 tournaments that were cancelled due to wet fields. One, the rain was on Tuesday and they cancelled the entire weekend. We had a much, much heavier rain on a Wednesday and CYO had the field in perfect condition by the weekend in comparison.

In SW Ohio you might want to consider Stebbins Field in Greenville Ohio. excellent diamonds that handle rain with no trouble. when we played up there earlier this year they said that a brand new structure was being built in the middle of the complex that will have restrooms, a full concession facility and an air conditioned sitting area to get out of the sun if needed. that place has the right atmosphere to host a state or even national event.

Tim, I have to agree with choosenone about Greenville (Stebbins). For the Wave Classic, we had the 10 and 12U games at Sater park this past month and we had a downpour that wiped out the Saturday night games. They were playing at Stebbins after only a 20 minute delay. Once they do get their new complex done, it will rival any park in the state.

The Complex in Greenville is actually owned by GGSA and it is an excellent place to host a tournament. We have an excellent working relationship with them and the improvements that they will be making over the coming months will make it one of the best in that part of Ohio for sure. The addition of the permenant restrooms and the concession faclity will be top notch. We are planning to run a few special format events there next year that will be just what teams are looking for. Those will be announced immediately after the completion of the World Series in a few weeks.

Thanks for mentioning it.
