Grove City vs. Hilliard Darby

Any thoughts on this "rematch"
I feel it will be a very exciting game, as Darby won at the time a "meaningless" non league game.

On paper the keys to the game are the star power with a great pitching dual with Myers and Roudabusch.
I think an even bigger key and maybe the most major factor will be how the catchers handle the young pitchers.
Coleman is one of the best in the game at this, and is unsung when it comes to the pitching success of Grove City.
She handles this well and quarterbacks this team.
The Darby catcher seemed just as important in the first win, as she kept the freshman star pitcher from in check
and like Coleman, deserves much of the credit for her pitchers success this year.

The Grove City lineup runs deep with Galloway, Frazier, Allman and Zuefle, so I believe Grove City will win this rematch
on their way to the final four in the state.

Again, any thoughts?

JMHO but.....
I think Roudabusch and Myers both rock and I also think O'Shea and Coleman rock! I don't think I want to try to pick which duo I think is better.

I've watched both teams play and IMHO, I think "the rest of" Darby's team is a bit better than "the rest of" Grove City's team. So, I think Darby might take it.

I can be pretty sure of one thing, it is going to be a game to watch!!!! Good luck to all!

IMHO, games like these, with two evenly matched teams, four things come into play. 1. Whoever has a hiccup (error fielding or throwing) could determine the out come. Your big players have to play big. 3. A big play from a role player you didn't expect. 4. Maybe the most important - LUCK.

Grove City - 1
Darby - 0

Grove City scores in the bottom of the sixth. Allmon hits a triple and Galloway squeezes her home on a nasty high pitch on the hands. Myers throws another no hitter. The Darby pitcher threw her guts out, its a shame someone had to lose. Grove City's defense was stellar again. Next up Lebannon.

Great crowd, Great pitching, great weather, Great GAME! The better team won the game yesterday and Darby has nothing to hang their heads on. They had an outstanding season, beating many good teams and now only lose 4 seniors. Two that played regularly, one that was injured the entire season and their second starter. So 2009 looks bright and I would expect both of these teams right back where they are a year from now.

Good Luck Grove City as Lebanon will be tough. Represent Central Ohio well!

Congrats to both Grove City and Hilliard Darby on a great game, and Miss T. Allmon on some clutch hitting!!! We'll be rooting for you against Lebanon and hopefully at States...represent Central Ohio well.

Congrats to Grove City - way to go "Speedy" with some awesome hitting!! Keep it up - but save some for your travel team
