Congratulations to all the teams for what seemed to be a very, very, competitive tournament.
I couldn't attend, but it should have been a (Jimmy Crum) "barn burner" at Massillon.

Ohio softball is thriving, and I predict it will only take a few more days before the Wolfpack Black get back to the nationals.

We need to lobby the reps and council in OK. City, and let them know what a tragedy it is by not
allowing more teams from Ohio to gain berths to nationals. Ohio would be well represented with four at both 18's and 16's.

.

How many ASA bids are out their now for Ohio teams? Is there actually one reserved for Ohio teams at each age level? Are the other qualifiers open to anybody to win? Could a team from like Texas win a bid from an Ohio non state tournament?

Thanks , excuse my ignorance I am new to this travel part of the game.

As of now, 2 teams from Ohio have qualified for USA/ASA Nationals in Owensboro....Ashland Blaze and the GCKA Nightmare. Only 2 more shots left in Ohio, at Pickerington, and in Ashland, and the one in Pickerington may not even go to an Ohio team. May only have one more team from Ohio qualify.

How did the Ashland Blaze qualify?

I thought the Cincy Doom qualified too in Indiana somewhere? Maybe I'm mistaken - but I thought I ready that somewhere - maybe the Diamonds of the South tourney or something like that???

Ashland Blaze won the 14U ASA Eastern Nationals last year to qualify.

And I believe you are correct that the Cincy Doom qualified at the Diamonds of the South Qualifier, although I could never confirm that it was a qualifier for Owensboro.

So that makes 3 teams qualified, with chances at the Lady Bear, Pickerington, and Ashland, so possibly 3 more teams will qualify. I stand corrected.
