Anyone know anything about this tournament? It seems to have some good teams in the 16u division and is an ASA Eastern Region qualifier.

The 16u is an ASA/USA national qualifier. ?

I don't know anything more than what you have posted - I would think we would be receiving schedules relatively soon though.

Does anyone know which Pittsburgh Power team is attending?

We played there 2 years ago as a 12u and returning this year as a 14u team. pretty nice tournament. While the younger ages are qualifiers for ASA Easterns I believe the 16u is actually an ASA Nationals qualifier.

Marie,

We're still registered at 16U but are playing the majority of tournaments (showcases) in the 18U group. Playing 16U in the ASA/USA States, Qualifiers and hopefully Nationals.

We looked into the Lady Bear Qualifier but the tourney director told me that the berth would be awarded to the highest finishing team from your region. If it would have been an "Open" I'm sure we'd have made the trip up to your neck of the woods!

Hope we get a chance to meet and play sometime this summer!

I received my schedule via email last night. Said field maps would be sent later. Strange schedule for us. Pool games Friday at 3:30 and 7:00 and then Saturday at 11:30am. Single elimination starts Sunday. So only 1 game on Saturday??!!?? Lots of pool time at the hotel.

Travel,

According to the schedule, the 18's are playing their pool play games at the New Rec Center. They move to Volunteer Park for Double elimination on Saturday and Sunday and a few games at the new rec center on sunday.

I can't find anywhere that states that this is a National Qualifying tournament. I remember early on asking if this was a USA/ASA qualifier and was told it was for Cleveland Metro teams only. Did this change, and when?? I went to the Ohio ASA recently and every other qualifier is listed, but not this one. Hope wires didn't get crossed.

Agree with lady knights - when did this become national Qualifer - when checked previously was an eastern - chose not to play and look for national qualifiers - with limited numebr of bids this year the national qualifers were pretty well known and this wasn't on the list - did we miss this or did their bid change

The Lady Bears was an ASA/USA qualifier before the other bids were handed out because this one was given through the Metro Cleveland region. Teams outside of the Metro Cleveland region can play in this tournament. Their website is

This has been an ASA Nationals Qualifier for at least 4 years now ... we won the 16-U in 2005 and got to go to the ASA A's in Sioux Falls. It worked the same way then re: teams from Metro Cleveland though we did win it outright.

What a joke here. 14u quarterfinals, our 1st game since we had a bye, didn't start play until 4:00 on Sunday due to adult slowpitch using the fields we used on Friday and Saturday. Ten as we warmed up the rains came and they cancelled the tournament and had coin flips to determine the last 3 rounds.

Total joke the way 14u was handled.You should not have a tournament if you do not have the fields.

The girls games should of been played during the day not your adult slowpitch.You ruined a good

tournament,and made a joke out of it.Will never play in it again.
