Central Ohio Teams

Hey I know it's a little early to talk about high school softball, but we need something to talk about other than football on this softball forum. It's purely speculative this early in the school year, but who do you predict will be some of the best high school teams coming out of central Ohio region?

I predict that Grove City will again will be tough, graduating only 1 senior last year.

St. Francis DeSales & Bishop Ready should also be tough (DeSales has a great freshman class) & the addition of a top pitcher/hitter can only help the Ready team.

Central Crossing should also have a very competitive team. They only graduated 2 seniors and started out with an 8-2 record last year, before succumbing to injuries. One of the freshman they have competing for the pitcher's spot is tough; a lot of movement who has a reputation for shutting down great hitting teams down at both the middle school and 14u levels.

Don't know much much about the rest, so which teams do you predict to be one of the top central Ohio teams?

Top 2 for sure. IMO
Gahanna Lincoln
Grove City

There are now in the same OCC division so it ought to be game of the year when they meet.

I agree with Grove City and Gahanna, but don't forget Hilliard Darby and Teays Valley.
Ready in D3, and I'm sure Lakewood will be strong.

I will also promote every other deserving high school team I can think of to help the team my daughter will now play on fly under the radar :) (besides they are too young and need time to develop:)

Grove City will continue to be top notch, I agree.

TV graduated only 1 senior as well last year and will continue to be a great team. Their incoming freshman class went undefeated in the MSL last year and will continue to improve. They have at least 1 player now that probably can contribute to the Varsity team.

P.S. I never post, but enjoy the board for an informational benefit. It is a good source of information.

I agree Teays Valley should be tough. Grove City struggled with them for most of game during the playoffs.

Grove City is pretty clearly the top team. After that, I'd say something like Gahanna and Darby and then a group that would include Marysville, UA, TV, TW, CC, maybe Groveport, Davidson and Kilbourne.

I'm only thinking about D1 OCC here.

I agree with Gove City in DI , Licking Valley in DII will be tough with most of the team back, and Lakewood will still be the top of DIII with Ready , West Jeff and Johnstown challenging. In D IV Danville returns key players

Can't let this one slide...:)

I am confident DeSales will win a state title in the next 4 years.

DeSales is in Division II. I don't think Watterson has a "prayer" against the top tier teams. How will these teams do outside of Central Ohio against Wooster, Elyria, North Canton Hoover, Hudson, Massilon Jackson and Perry in Division I? Division II statewide should dominate over Central Ohio with Hoban, Walsh, Canfield, and Poland. Central may fair better DIII.

I think you are wrong Honus. Watterson has lots of prayers. That is still allowed and encouraged there :)
