Otterbein College Softball looking for new coach.

In an email that I just received, Otterbein college is now looking for a new coach. It appears that Deb Torman has decided to move on, or possibly let go. News to me, but has anyone else heard anything??

Maybe JoeA will come back to Ohio and coach the Cardinals??

She's not on their site anymore...Ashley Ball is listed as Interim coach. They were recruiting ours to play there, that probably changes things a bit...

Word is she was let go, Ashley Ball is a Lebanon, Ohio native and a graduate/player from Kent State. She was an assistant for Deb last year.

Ashley also was the JV coach at TWHS with Joe a few years back....

She got a letter yesterday from the AD announcing it and that they may not be able to get one in time for this Spring, but are actively pursuing it...

Ashley sent out an e-mail to coaches the other day announcing this move. If they can't find a head coach they want before spring, Ashley will be just fine, and I suspect quite a bit better than many coaches they might rush into the position.

Ashley ran DD's infielding session & Kent St. today (all sophomores). She also stuck around to do some recruiting at the QDSN.

I was told by the AD that they are going with the interim coach for now and not accepting applications/resumes.

Be assured that all recruiting at Otterbein will continue as it has been. The recruiting is handled by the GA. If your players are being recruited by Otterbein, they should not be intimidated by this change, but excited.
