You got that right pcaba-coach. It was somewhat bad last year, but seem even worse (atleast slower) this year. Some of them are not even advertising at all.

Barry, we have had a few that we have emailed on multiple occassion, left phone messages and no response. If their doing this , why would you want to enter their tournament ?

Some just dont get it I guess. If they put little effort into it before the tourny, guess what you can expect at their tournament.

I have always found that it really helps our tournaments when we list the teams that are attending. Number one it shows the level of competition so others can decided weather or not it is the type of event that they want to enter, and number two it lets everyone know how many spots are left if they are on the fence.

So far I would say that we are a little ahead of entrants compared to this time last season. One of our tournaments has only one 12U spot left, and the two June events are almost full as well. I hope that we have been responsive to anyone who has ever requested information from us. We appreciate teams that trust us to host a quality tournament and service prior to the event is a huge part of it in my opinion.

Personally I can say that every TD that we have contacted at tournaments that our teams will be participating in has been very responsive. I would feel a little uneasy if continued attempts to get information went unanswered.

100% agree Parma, come on over to the Swing Into Spring with the Mid Ohio Bombers and RVBFY. The RVBFY is a co sponsor of this tournament, as they have successfully put on the Summer Rebellion for the past 6 years and they have made it successful every year. RVBFY and The Mid Ohio Bombers has agreed to assist the IFA to get off the ground here in Ohio and are hosting a couple other tounaments as well.

Poland Pride Tourney keeps you in touch, then we also get your email address and email reminders, things happening, changes etc..., We keep the teams in the loop; or at least I think do. One thing is for sure is if anyone would have any sort of problem I would love to know so that I do not make the same mistake again. You are making money for a fundraiser; it's almost like running a short lived business, including marketing to a certain point. Of course your finale product is the tourney itself, and if you run a good one, teams will return and tell others. That is what I feel is happening to our tourney; ours is in May and we have about 4 to 5 more spots left, and I feel that is pretty good for this time of year.

do you think the (moderators) would let us make a list of T.D.'S that arent returning emails, phone calls , so everyone knows what there dealing with ?

I don't think that the mods would let you list names. That would get real ugly, real fast.

I thought that there was an earlier thread about this subject, about 1 or 2 months ago and the mods put out a statement to the TDs that post their tournaments on OFC.

I'll try to find it.

I don't think it's a bad idea to rate Tourney Directors... ever heard of Rate Your Teacher.com? Sure it was a little controversial at first b/c who wants to be put on the spot for all to see if it's not always shiney, happy news? haha. But really, who is there to hold TDs accountable if not us, the clients? Just my 2cents.

Here's what we have so far for the Millersport ASA Eastern NQ:

18U - Stingrays - Pohlman, Buckeye Heat - May, Ohio Swarm, Stingrays - Blaire(16U)

12U - Ohio Classics(11U) - Putnam, Ohio Dragons, Millersport Lakers, Buckeye Heat 97, Stingrays - Leedy

Need 3 more 12U teams

I'm not going to discuss the returning of emails, but I do know a few years ago, there were some very angry people that felt as if they were used when I posted a list of teams that applied to a tournament that I ran, and they eventually did not get in. So, despite people clamoring for it, I stopped listing teams until they were officially accepted.

What people have to realize is that while tournament directors have a huge responsibility to the softball community they are serving, the customers, so to speak, are never satisfied. There will be people nit-picking and second guessing on every side of each decision made. So, for those TDs that are putting forth an effort to do things right, cut them a break.

These men and women (for the most part) are not professionals, and are trying to do their best. Much of developing and running a successful tournament is trial and error.
