Upper Arlington - 1

Who coaches the offense for Upper Arlington - Jim Bolhman? They will not beat Central Crossing (too many sticks and too tough a pitcher) in their league or any of the other top tier D1 teams with that - no sticks!

Flex, you forgot to mention Darby's 5 errors that were logged. I feel sorry for the team Darby is playing when the bats awake.

Hilliard Darby......0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0...2 5 5
Central Crossing..0 0 0 0 2 0 0 1...3 5 3

This wasn't a pretty game by any means, but at the same time it was a very exciting game throughout. I keep my own team scorebook (it keeps me busy and away from the dugout/fence...alright it keeps me from talking to my DD...lol) and my line score was a little different, with at the very LEAST one less error for each team.

Our freshman pitcher (Savanna Dorsey) pitched a solid game and did a good job of pitching around certain hitters in certain siturations. Our offense, although not where we want to be as a team, are at least putting the ball into play (sometimes hard, sometimes soft) and getting key hits, sacs and walks when needed. The defense looked a little sloppy yesterday, but Darby was putting the ball in play and forcing our defensive effort...so it was what it was.

I agree with Hilliarddad on Darbys offense ability to hit, when they do get hot they are a force to deal with. We (CC) knew, as the game progressed, that with Hiedi or Kellie they were just one swing away from breaking the game open, especially with O'Shea on base almost every time...a very skillful lefty slapper. Also, we were very impressed with #13...she may be this years version of Katie Simonton/Dublin Scioto...haven't seen anyone faster. Who is she and who does she play for in the summer?

Anyway, the fact is it was just one game, and Hilliard Darby and Upper Arlington are still the top 2 teams in our division and everyone else is just trying to take that next step to the next level.

Bink:

Your reference to a rabbit at Dublin Scioto brought a smile to my face. Sundial knows how to take raw speed and turn that into a softball player. At least one such young lady (not my DD, as you know) is now playing Division III college ball as a result of Sundial's strategy in that respect.
