What do you say to get the adrenaline flowing?

Feisty, does this mean you are over your senior moment and now remember your "get some" routine?

Actually, I would love some serious suggestions for pregame cheers, or something to break team huddles. I've been trying to get the girls to come up with their own, but that seems to be a dead end so far.

If you guys have 'em, post 'em on youtube so we can see them!!! I love some of the chants/cheers we see during the summer!!

To clear up some confusion some posters had, this post wasn't to see how I could motivate these young ladies as football players, it was just to see and hopefully hear what some other teams do...as a father of soon to be 4 girls, I am well aware of the subtle differences between teenage male football players and teenage female fastpitch players....although my two youngest will be playing peewee football! :yahoo:

Actually a couple of my girls came up with this and my short stop Nikki Carpenter leads it. I seriously would have to hear the words again to remember, but it starts by everyone in a very tight huddle rocking back and forth and then the chanting starts. At the very end Nikki will do a little count and the entire breaks on "Get Some".

In Illinois my girls did a similar thing to the cheer that goes Bang bang cho cho train. . .reese pieces etc. We were the Heart Breakers and they would draw our logo in the sand and then when the chant was done everyone would "spit" on the logo and kick sand on it to seal the deal.

I ask my players the week prior to starting to as a group come up with something that they want to use every year. At first it is like a empty glass on thoughts being offered, but once the brian storming starts, our cup over runs with ideas.

I never taught my 14 & 16 y/o's how to spit, if they do it dribbles on their chin and down the front of them...lol...so now I am teaching my 3 y/o how to spit sunflower seeds, she can hit the field from about 4 feet out right now...although mom and 'Nana' cringe each time she does it...:p

This stuff is pretty good. I watched the OSU game today, and after one of the Buceyes hit one out of the park the team was going back to the bench after greeting the hitter, and Kim Reader counted out 1-2-3 (then she and the rest of the team turned to the section of field the ball left the yard, jumped straight up hands high, and did a little bye-bye wave with their hands and yelled "See-Yah." My wife and I laughed when we saw it.

My dd's middle school team had a double header today. Lets just say their bats were alittle cold. Coach pulls all the girls aside and attempts to pumped them up. It was a great speech. I got fired up. All three girls go up and strike out....two of them looking!! He just looked at me with a puzzled look. What do you do!

I beleive you have that competetive fire or you don't!! Some kids get fired up at the thought of playing the game. Others...well who knows!

Mike, I think it sounds like a male/female difference in motivation. The girls may have needed a different approach. I notice that somewthing like that gets the girls fired up and too tense to perform at a higher level. It's like it's better to be loose and relaxed to do your best IMHO

Philbob, normally I would agree with you on that. Most of the girls on my dd M.S. team are very competetive. Then there is the group on the team that act like the coaches are bothering them when they give instruction. You get so frustrated coaching some of these kids because they have no fire in their eyes.

If a coach can't get the girls pumped up by a good speech, or the performance of their peers. What in the world can get players like that fired up?

I'm thinking something more along the lines of something that has a connection with Twilight.
