:( Tonight is my dd's final High School game. :( I'm not quite sure where the time went, or how SHE got this old....but i do know that when she runs off that field for the final time tonight, my heart may fracture little bit, but not break, because I know there is a brilliant future ahead for her and that softball is only a part of who she is. She plans to study Athletic Training at Heidleberg University and continue her education to become a Chiropractor. I know this girl will succeed, it is not in her to fail. I am very proud of her and the success she has had in High School and Travel Ball....now she's off to the BERG for 4 more years of softball at a new level !!! For all Senior Parents...I feel your pain, for all "underclassman" parents....it goes so fast, cherish every minute!! GO BERG!!!:yahoo:

awesome: As a dad of one who's finished 4 years of HS then recently 4 years of college, your advise is spot on. The day my dd stepped off the field for the last time as an AU Eagle will be one i'll never forget. The pride you express for your dd is a wonderful thing to read about and with your obvious support she will no doubt do great things. Enjoy the next 4 years!!!!

I can't even imagine that day...I dread it. I am having a rough enough time dealing with her ending her 8th grade year let alone her senior year.......Best of Luck to her and you....

We have met up with you in the summer, Coach Huggins Team, the AU reference turned a light on for me!!!! You got a great girl there, best of luck to her as well.

I wish you and your DD the best as for me my DD is only 12 but softball has brought the two of us together in a way that only be described as wonderful. I will definetly be very sad and torn when she steps off that field for the last time.

The thought brings tears to my eyes, I can only imagine how you must feel. My dd will be a freshman next year, I hope the time doesn't go too fast. Softball has been a saving grace since her Dad passed when she was 10, She has been blessed w/ so many good friends and mentors through softball. I hope that she in return will give back someday.

My DD`s last HS game was last friday(probably last ever) it was cloudy and I had my sunglasses on all game....and I think people thought I was crazy, I was not shading the sun I was hiding my tears It was ALOT harder than I thought....... It was not the Senior year I had hoped for her, but never-the-less I was so proud of her and balled my eyes out when it was over...

Watched my DD's final HS home game last night...boy was that hard! Final regular season game tonight and then on to Districts starting Wednesday. Don't know how I will do on the last one. Can't believe where the time went...they do grow up too quickly. Now it will hopefully be on to College games.

As I suspected....it was Very hard. Not the End of a High School career I would have hoped for her either. Should have been excellent, the talent was there, but for some, not the passion and therefore not good results.... Oh well, On to Travel Ball and girls who have the passion & dirt flowing through their veins, and then on to the BERG!!! Great job Amber, your mom and dad love you and are very proud of you!!

Watched and coached my DD's last H.S. game last night. Lost in the District semi's. She went 2-3 with a double and sac. Unfortunately 2 outs bottom of 7th with 2 on she hit grounder to 2nd. Game over. Had to reminder her of all that she has accomplished on and off the field and that one play does not define a career or anything else. Nothing but fond memories and cherished every moment. Retired my 3 year old hat and had her autograph it. Hangs on my wall in my office.

We are almost at that time frame as well, but have at least one more game, tomorrow, in which her Grandparents are coming in for Graduation and will be able to see something they never have and that's watch her play...

I hope you Fabreezed that hat first :)

For us our four years of HS ball were cut short-DD went to school one morning in the fall a JR. and came home at lunch and said-guess what, I'm a senior! Graduating a year early and making us miss out on a 4th year of HS ball! Luckily she is going to college only 3 1/2 hours away so we should see at least a few games.

The time does go fast, even without the early ending. Seems like just yesterday she was playing her first 10U tournament game. Enjoy all the days and games because they are gone before you know it!

My dd is a senior and her final game was last wednesday. She did cry but for different reasons. Because of politics so heavy at our school, her final game was spent sitting the bench and not playing one second of the game. It definately was not the way she ever imagined finishing. But, she too is on her way to Heidelberg University to play ball and do great things with her future. We chalked this school ball season up to a hard lesson learned and now on to bigger and better things.

Did not fabrize the hat. 3 years of hitting the dirt, stepping on it, sweating in it and hitting it against fences have added to the patina. It will forever remain the same.
