Chip talks about recruits in generalities to me. "I have a girl coming from Michigan", "I have a local girl coming", and so on. Since he does not offer names and schools I do not ask. Someone at Pastime Park told me Saturday.
I do not have Chip on speed-dial but what I do have is a friendship and deep respect for his softball knowlege. As far as I'm concerned Miss Schwable could not have made a better choice. She will be coming to a very good team with very good coaching in a very good conference.
Good luck to Miss Schwable and the rest of the Cardinals and I hope they bring home a state championship.

I just like talking general softball with the guy. I honestly do not try to pry into Chip's business and I am way behind on "who signed with who" locally. All I get to read these days are industry statistical and business reports. So no worries Howard, I'm relaxed and good to go.

Colerain lost 3 to 0....the girls are on their way home to graduation tonight.
To my knowledge first time Colerain ever made it to the final four...
It has been a special pleasure working with these girls last year and this year as I went to Colerain in 1967 and every time I come to practice it brings back another memory. These were a special bunch of kids who tried hard and worked hard with a new Coach at the helm...Coach Sue Dayton.
Thanks for letting me be a part of what was a truly amazing year! The girls showed respect and listened attentively, we lost and yet won in many other respects and I think they will remember that more than anything.
No one thought they would get past Mason, Lakota East or Glenn Estes and all were great opponents and look for them again next year to have strong programs.
Good luck to Emily at NKU and Andi at West Virgina!!!!!!!!!! You are seniors tonight and will be freshmen again tomorrow, doesn't seem fair to have to start over does it?

Tough loss Colerain, your ladies played their hearts out, left it on the field. Great Pitching, Defense, Hustle. Hope you catcher is fine, I was sitting behind home plate and felt my seat vibrate as she crashed into the wall after that foul pop. Like when Hudson won the title in 2007, as in this year also, there have been many games where one clutch swing of the bat turns things - that's the way it was today. Be proud, you are to be respected! Great season!
