It's funny when a team makes some noise in the summer how people start looking for pathetic little negativisms. Don't worry about what the team name is. This is a team that will have a very successful summer. And no, I do not have a DD or any affiliation with this team.

It wasnt noise it was a small peep! Every year some team pulls a win unexpectedly thats cool thats why they play the games. One thing is for sure there are pleanty of Laser Haters out there looking for props every time the Lasers loose. But the Gold thing still baffels me, my guess is its something to do with its cross town rival that also has no business calling itself gold. I know Im supposed to be nice but some people are so far behind in the race they accually believe they are winning.:lmao:

Scott, please refrain from using this area for the issues you bring forth. We would like to keep this on point.

Thanks!

Scott this wouldn't have anything to do with your daughter not being part of the Crusher organization anymore would it?

No not at all Don its just funny how one who spends most of its summers playing local tournaments can associate it with a Gold team. As far as my kid well the past few years she's been on a couple of teams that are in the so called OFC top ten in there age bracket. If your looking to see Dez play you can catch her at a few ASA USA qualifiers for the ASA USA Nationals in North Dakota. As well as two out of state college showcase tournaments and the rest well you cant get into the tournaments unless your team was invited or accepted.

No hard feelings its just how I see it.:lmao:

Laser haters? C’mon. Teams like the Lasers, Wolfpack, Ice, Classics, are elite teams in Ohio. They are the measuring stick for other organizations. They have a history of having strong organizations and good coaching. When I first started coaching and I was at a tournament that these teams were playing I would make a point of going to watch them play hoping that I could learn something. . That was a big win for the Crushers, and I haven’t seen any Crusher people on here blowing their own horn about it. Why don’t you man up and tell us why you really hate the Crushers.

Never mind. It looks like my question was answered. Good luck at the qualifiers. The ASA USA Nationals is a great experience.

Dave its not hate its just seems very reckless to me that a coach would call this a gold team when even if you wanted you couldn't field a true Gold team with all the talent in this state let alone just the east side of Cleveland. Bottom line go to the 16 year old top ten list and you tell me if they would seriously be able to muster up a win against any of those ten teams. Thats why calling yourself Gold bothers me a bit!

The point is, Scott is not knocking the Crusher Organization. A "Gold" team is supposed to be the elite of the elite. Point in fact, a very well respected organization head here in Ohio, who will have two teams in the top ten, doesn't believe there is a true "Gold" team in Ohio. I don't know if there is a true "Gold" team in Ohio or not, but you better be prepared to be questioned and back it up if you want to call your team "Gold". He's basically just asking those questions.

So to recap, some of the OFC community believe that having "Gold" in a team's name as a designation without playing an ASA Gold schedule amounts to false advertising.

Could be an interesting discussion, but completely off topic here, so... time to close this one.
