The Format will be a 5 game guarantee, with pool play seeding into the tournament. Two ASA licensed umpires will be used per game (for every game) and the best part is the time limit will be 1 hour 40 minutes. If 7 innings were not completed in the time limit then once the time limit is reached the inning will be completed. There will be no ties. ITB will be in force if needed. Games will begin every two hours and diamonds will be prepared in between each game.

I hear one was added tonight? How will that affect the pool play already posted?

I hope not too much. Knowing we have a 2+ hour drive, I am not sure my parents even could take off work to get to a Friday game now.

Dave, Maybe you'll get my 530 spot on Friday. Better than being at work...

I'm also assuming bracket play will begin late on Saturday? Or is bracket play Sunday only?

Lester, dburbick we will have the updated pool play brackets out later this morning. We actually added one team (KY Xplosion) and lost two 9u teams. Both Hawks (Black) and Miamisburg Sting younger team dropped out so we will now have two 5 team pools. We've been working hard to add a few other 10U teams but unfortunately I turned a couple away earlier this week when we were full at 12 teams and now they ended up finding other places to play.

Coaches should have the info soon, and then the website will be updated as well. Thanks for being patient.

Wow! Lots of changes. Look forward to the update and thanks for keeping us to speed. Loosing Friday is ok with us.

Well we weren't able to do that and in fact we expanded the pool play to 4 games for each team and then begin the tournament on Sunday. At least this way each team will play every other team in their pool. This format should work good and we will get the revised schedules out to coaches ASAP.

Thanks,

Rich

KY25,

It will not be a double-elim on Sunday. We decided to split the brackets up into Gold, Silver, Bronze(12U only) brackets. The 1st & 2nd place teams of each bracket will get hardware. They'll each have their own presentation at home plate and close to half the teams will go home with something. We feel that for the younger/newer/less skilled teams, it give them an opportunity to really shoot for something against similarly skilled teams. We think it will be popular format with most of the kids and parents. We'll certainly will take comments/suggestions after the tournament to keep improving year after year.

Thanks to the whole Wave org for getting all the kinks worked out in the 10U. This looks like it is going to be a great weekend.

What is the format going to be for 10u on Sunday? Single elim/Double elim? Will teams be split into different brackets?

What if a team has a bad day on Saturday or is missing a Pitcher? They will be put into bronze bracket and then roll through it on Sunday? I've seen teams go 0-3 on Saturday then 3-0 on Sunday to win the tournament.

It will be a shame to drive over 4 hours and not get a chance to play some of the teams from Pool B. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

In bracket play more often then not the seeds are set up in a way to cross over and play teams from the opposite pool.

We have a few rooms that were booked for the Rip It tournament. If you are in need of a room for this weekends tournament, the contact information is below.

Here is the hotel info for the weekend. I have two rooms that house 4 people each for Friday and Saturday nights. The hotel includes a buffet breakfast and has an indoor pool. It is located off I-70 at the Ohio/Indiana border, so it is about 25 miles out.

If anyone is interested give me a call.
