Indoor Tournament 10u, 12u and 14u Indoor Tune-up Tourney - Mar 21/22

Doug has a nice team! Very good pitcher, and the whole team is skilled at small ball. Didn't care much for any ball fouled straight back into the net behind the batter being able to be caught for an out. ;& But it was the same for both teams. It's indoor softball. It is what it is. Dragons also have a solid team. Looking forward to seeing both teams this year.

An update... it is a full sized indoor ****** field - a little tight granted but not too bad. We are debating the use of the Softie - I don't like it personally, we are comparing several different brands - including using a 'cheaper' softball like the Adidas ones that Dicks sells - they are not softies but not rock hard either - I think they will be perfect for the indoor - we are going to 'practice' with some of the Dicks/Adidas balls this weekend and make a decision.

I sure will... look for a BIG announcement soon. I am meeting with the top facility in the area on Weds - they have a 120x120 field that is legit to hold true Sanctioned tourneys with real softballs. Plus they have 6 pitching cages, 4 hitting and coming soon the video based hitting cage.

If all goes well we will sign a contract to practice all our teams there weekly for 4 hours a night - it will be about an $8000 investment in our player training... fingers crossed it all comes to pass!

Just wanted to give you heads up........... if your referring to Swobat in West Chester, they contacted us last winter wanting to meet with us and work out a contract with our organization. After we had the meeting, we refused their offer because we felt they weren't intrested in fully commiting to girls fastpitch softball. These guys are all about baseball. Baseball takes priority over softball at this facility.They also stuck it to the Southern Fury last winter after they had an arrangment worked out for an indoor tournament. Swobat changed the plans on them at the last minute without notice causing the Southern Fury's tournament to be cancelled.

The only thing we liked about the facility was the fact that you can use real balls. Other than that, the facility in no good to host indoor tournaments. The field actually isn't that big. Its like playing on fields with fences at 120'. You get ALOT of balls hit off the walls. All the spectators are crammed together 60' on one side of the feild.

This is a great practice facility but I would not recommend hosting or playing in any tournaments here.

I just thought I would pass this information along to you. I know you guys will do what you feel is best for your organization. I would hate to see you guys invest into something and not know the history of the facility. Again, just a heads up.............

I apprecaite that information and will be sure to bring up the investment in girls softball ... that is something we talked about at our last meeting - the Flames rule that facility... what interests us as well is that we are going to have a boys baseball side to the Hawks next season with 4 teams likely... I wondered about the 120x120 - the miami u coaches did a clinic there last winter with us and they thought it was doable but there would be a lot of green monster shots...

I spoke with the folks at SWOBAT last night.. we are meeting next week ... looks great for indoor tourneys for 10, 12 and 14u this winter! We will have actual dates and time in a couple of weeks... we will sign a contract with a no-backout clause by either party to protect our interest.
