bill --never forget seeing your DD for the 1st time --some mentioned her being a "presence " --thats an understatement ! She had the mirrored shades on , the all business look -- I thought "they ain't no one comin ' in hard on that catcher " ! Reading your post was like a kick in the gut --hard to believe a kid with talent would want to quit but you have to support your kids. MD

Bill ... reading this made me think how quickly our kids grow up and move on ... hate to hear it, but eventually it happens to all of us.... they go on their own way...

Good luck to you and your DD.

Maybe there a BF in the picture. We practically adopted the BF, in our family. So, DD kept playing. He came in handy when there were bat bags to carry.

Thanks all for thr kind comments. It is real hard to break the OFC habit. I don 't smoke but I'd put this right up there with trying to stop smoking.

V,

You and I have been around for a while. I too know my time will come to an end some day. When it finally comes, I will feel as though a little part of me is gone. I love coaching, but then again, when my playing days were over, I thought that was the end of the world as I knew it. Every ending is the beginning of another chapter...sometimes ones that you never expected. You might want to consider putting your knowledge to use in another way. You are young (ok, younger;&) Have you ever thought about putting the knowledge you gained into another avenue, such as coaching? Trust me when I say, it is a whole new world.
