Has anybody seen any info posted for when and where the USSSA Southern State is next year.

I have sent the State Director/asst Director an email asking where it will be. I was unable to go to the State meeting. When I get a reply, I will let you know.

Northern States are in Toledo the weekend of June 18-20.
Southern States are the weekend of June 11-13 location TBA.

As soon as I can get confirmation and a signed agreement back, I will post the location.

Anyone know the fields in Columbus? It appears that the All Sanction event is at Berliner during the same time.

11u -13u - 15u USSSA Eastern Region is in Columbus, Ohio on July 19-25th

Jim,
Typically, there is no C level play in the state events-- I have the 16U Southern State and it will be an Open play of A and B teams--C team can enter but I always advise against it.

For you to run the State "C" tournament in Lebanon, Jim. God knows, nobody else has ever wanted to "fool" with them except Ricky Morehead and me... and you ....... Remember, the teams have to get insuarance as their league insurance don't cover them (SOFGA or otherwise). That has always been the question... will rec teams pay for "new" insuarnce for one (1) tournament? But the options are this for the teams in 2010:

1) USSSA State "C"
2) USSSA Nationals in Chattanooga and
3) Ricky's Youth League Rec League World Series in Zanesville


It's finally giving the rec kids some other options after their leagues end and they don't feel like they are wasting their money buying insurance plan for one event.

The teams in our program have insurance that covers them outside of SOGFSA to play tourney's and even Fall ball.

There you go Jim. Some other state girl's teams might not. That is where it all lies when it comes to putting a rec event on as a TD. Is sifting through and making sure they do is the challenge. If they don't, then talking them into an insurance policy for one tournament is then the next challenge.

I hope Mike lets you try..... Heck, nobody else ever tried ..... I think you'd do a wonderful job.. you know the rec system in Ohio... you are a part of it. They are out there... They seem to think in two division. League rec and all-star rec. When you get through the classification part of it...and how to determine the balance of each division and guidelines to such.... I think it could be a great thing.

Advertise the USSSA National out to the leagues..then when they are there at Nationals in Chattanooga team the teams about Ricky's event (OFC) Youth League - Rec League World Series in Zanesville, Ohio and get them to here for it.

Then if they have something they KNOW is going to happen each and every year when they get their season done.....(late June) .... then you'll see more rec things going on for the girls.

Good luck if you should be allowed to give it a shot....... I'd think you would do a wonderful job at it.

If they don't... heck.. buy site insurance for the tournament and have your own state event. Make up your own tournament rules and have fun.

Southern State will be in Wilmington June 11-13. Cost is $375. Entry blanks will be up on the web by 12/15/09.

As far as I know, it is $450 for 5 G/G. USSSA national sets the entry fee and that was the price last season. Denny Rose didn't give any indication that it had changed.
