I didnt say anything about colleges. Im just saying that you dont always get what you pay for.and how expensive some are when other instructures are just as good for alot less.i guess if times werent so tough the $ wouldnt matter but since times are alot of parents cant afford to better there kids for that high price.

Also remember that Liz and Crystal have to pay for time at the facility; if they charged $25 (like one of these other guys referred to) they would be working for nothing.

I had two of my girls go up on Monday. They said they learned a lot and they couldn't wait to go back.
They said as a bonus they got to work right next to Crystl Bustos

Thanks Liz for giving back to this wonderful sport

Ive been down this road for a couple of years ,I agree with fastpitch dad.It used to be about 25-30 for a half an hr. The first instructor we had was great ,in fact all have been pretty good, and knowlegable. Some would even go beyond thirty minute time frame.
The thing that bothers me is that it's this one time deal to make a few dollars ,lets see 90 x 5hrs. x 10 kids (2 per hr.)=900 dollars 55 x 5 hrs.X 10 kids (2 per hr.) 550 bucks. Now these are just guesses at times and the kids who will attend ,but you get my point. Facilities have to be paid for I agree, but as this fastpitch grows and grows everyone seems to want a little more ,and ultimately it's the parents fault (myself included) because you want your kid to get better. But somewhere we have to draw the line .
Or maybe if My daughter goes on to play after High School ,and thats a big maybe .She wont have to worry about education to much in 2018 after college she should be able to get between 130 -150 dollars an hr for lessons!;&

hay hay im with you .there was a nice indoor batting cage that offered pitching lessons with a well know instructor it was 30.00 a half hour they moved to a up scale town 15min away and the price went way up.these people who charge over 30 is in it for their back pocket.

If this will get your kid in college playing softball then its well worth the investment. It all depends on the skill level of the kid and potential. Plus not all lessons and instructors are equal. Many cause more problems than they resolve and then we have to fix them, when we see them. Punchout knows the amount of money you are talking about. We are just starting the college process, but when you see that 4 years could be in excess of $100,000, it may be worth the investment. That is what you must figure out yourself.. Liz and CB are the elite instructors so you will learn correctly. I can only talk hitting, but most in Ohio you are not learning hitting that will get you to the next level. Read the Cali thread.

I know Liz and Crystl quite well and I know what they teach and how they teach. I know a LOT of instructors all over the country and locally.

You get what you pay for! We have over 71 kids in college and have had 14 playing at D1 schools and some on full academic rides that have walked on and made the teams without athletic money. So if her softball skills are not there who is helping her with her school work?

We just did a clinic in Columbus Ohio and we always work on throwing first so the kids understand a weight shift. Funny thing is MOST can not even throw a ball properly and it shows. So who are YOU going to hold accountable for YOUR daughter not understanding how to at least throw that is 14 years old so their arm does not hurt?

I find it laughable to see what some people teach and you pay for and then when YOU or YOUR daughter's coach could work with the best female hitter in the world for $90 dollars an hour and you do not even take advantage of that!!!! You parents need to look in the mirror and ask is your kid even working hard enough on their own to try and become better and play at the next level. They make excuses for not practicing or getting better so who gave them their work ethic, an instructor or you the parent?

When it comes to learning how to throw a ball properly and your travel or high school coach can not teach that, YOU my friend are in over your heads! Can you explain how to get balanced to hit a ball or throw and how many of the instructors that have not been to one of our clinics know how to teach some thing that simple?

Pool your money as parents if you are so willing to help teach and get JUST ONE of you to take a lesson from Crystl on throwing techniques and teach it to your team and you will be ahead of the rest. Then pick a coach and pool your money and get them to go to Crystl for hitting lessons. It so easy to teach even a caveman or woman can do it! How difficult can it be, see the ball hit the ball!

I am on a rant....you people complain about child care costs and how expensive it is and then taut how precious your child is too you and how much you love them and yet you do not want to pay for the proper care and education of Gods gift to you! Then you pay about $4,000 to $6,000 dollars to play travel ball and buy them a $300 to $400 dollar bat and they can not even use a $7 dollar hammer or throw a ball without their arm hurting them and then you have a poll question on who has the best walking taco's?

How many of you printed off a copy or even know what the PEP program is? That is free and could help your daughter right away avoid an ACL problem! This was in the distance training thread also and maybe the California thread!:D

Note: I have three sisters who come to me and it is expensive for them to come to clinics, so they had a family meeting and voted for the oldest sister to attend and take notes. It is her responsibility to teach the other two and help train them. I sell my aluminum cans for $8.50 which buys a half of a bottle of propane to heat the garage. Pull your resources as a team and become creative to raise some money for instruction if not for a kid do it as a parent so you can help teach the kids yourself.

Howard
