Hello all coaches and teams
Another year is here and we have new tournaments planned. Last year went pretty good.
I believe we learned things to do again and things to do without. Game schedules will be made to avoid the early morning games. The Friday night team parade will be moved to Saturday afternoon between pool play and bracket play. This means while the parade is being done we can get the bracket games scheduled without waits. Also, we want to have time for team picnics to take advantage of the park facility. With this time set aside this should give us time to adjust for rain. Also, we will start our Friday games at 4:00 and give teams more time for travel. The teams that travel the farthest will get scheduled for the later games. We are still planning a Game Day Program with team pictures in them. We will order more small and medium Tee Shirts. I want to get more food services available. We are calling it 4gg. However, we may have the first 4 teams out in the losers? bracket have a consolation bracket which will give every team a 5 game guarantee. Please let me know what you think on this so I can plan it out.
Brookside Park has made changes to some of their fields. The biggest change is Cahn Groove will become a baseball field. The other change is Brookside West field #2 will be changed from baseball field to a fastpitch softball field. These changes should be to our advantage because there will be less driving for all the teams. We will be using 3 fields there as well as Brookside Main field.
The park employees do all the field prepping. They worked into the morning last year and were very good with no complaining to make sure the fields were ready. Due to park budget cuts from the city the park department has to charge more for the fields so we have to charge $400 per tournaments.
There still will be no entry or parking fee and you are free to bring your own coolers.
We excited to announce that we our having a 12U, 14U and 16U tournaments planned.
The Stockpack Inc has generously helped our teams. We believe that they should be included in our tournament so we will be calling it Stock Pack Summer Classic at Brookside Park.
