Wow, Greenville has at least 10 days until a tournament game. Hope they saved a scrimmage or two

We have some banged up kids. A few days off will be just what the doctor ordered.

Our inner squad scrimmages are typically intense. A few of them will have us ready.

Louisville (nbc league) splits DH with GlenOak (federal league).

Brittany Flanigan got the win in game 1, 5-4. Brittany only gave up 3 hits. Shelby Swigert hit a bases-loaded double in the come-from-behind victory.

GlenOak won the 2nd 8-7. Had an 8-2 lead before the Lady Leopards' bats woke up. Chandler Rice hit a 2-run shot for Louisville in the 6th. Louisville was switching between Carly Baumgardner and a JV pitcher on the mound in game 2. Louisville's Desi Givens not playing full-time due to ankle injury.

I think Erin struck out 17 or 18 in this game against Elyria.......she can flat out bring it, by far the hardest throwing pitcher at the Prebis this weekend.

Sr Pitcher Megan Flenniken throws a perfect game vs. Celina and a tough 3 hit 1-0 loss to Greenville. Very impressive pitcher. I heard that she also threw 3 no hitters earlier this season that they ended up losing.
She was the best pitcher we faced this weekend and one of the better ones that I have seen this year.

No matter how talented the team, I don't see the logic in playing your maximum regular season games in such a short time frame. The schedule may have even contributed to some of the "banged-up" kids. JMO

Well it"s worked well for them for the last 8 years. Might not be for everyone but they make it work. I don"t think the kids that are banged up are any result of getting the games in. Stuff happens when you play hard. Better that a bump or bruise happened in April and is well out of the way by mid May instead of maybe twisting an ankle on a meaningless game right before a tournament game. Just a different way of looking at things I guess.

Gives them time to work on some things that might not have been working just right. Get back to some good fundamental work and of course get in some tough inner squad games as well.

Next year when they are back in the GWOC some of those league games might be scheduled later. This is where being an independent helps a little.
