My last 4 mother's days have been at the ball field. I truly enjoy it. Wouldn't change it at all. It would be nice if DD would remember to say "Happy Mothers Day" before the 3rd game though LOL

I don't even remember the last time I was home on Mother's Day. I've always been in Peninsula on Mother's Day, even when I wasn't a Diamond Dog coach. I've always gotten a rose or carnation that the organization gives to the girls for their Mom's, and a "Happy Mothers Day, can I have 5 bucks for a walking taco and Gatorade?" Isn't that what everyone does?

My dd gave me the best present of ALL Mother's Day presents last year. She hit her very first out of the park homerun! And afterwards, ran around the back of the dugout and yelled...HEY MOM!!! There's your mother's day present!!! We didn't tour this year on MD, but I wish we had!!!

Broadzilla,

My dd tried to do the same, but it hit the top of the fence and bounced back in!

I guess next year I'm stayin at the park!

I have spent many Mother's Days at the ballfield to watch my DDs play, running back and forth between fields.........WOULD NOT CHANGE IT FOR ANYTHING!!!!! Let's see, standing for 10 plus hours in the cold and wind, watching your DDs play their hearts out, getting that $1.25 trophy at the end of the day......PRICELESS!!!!!!!

My DD's coach buys flowers and gives each player a flower to present to their mother and wish them a Happy Mothers Day and to thank them for spending their special day supporting them at something they love to do ... play softball.

Not to hijack this thread, but here's to Fathers, who regardless of the age of their DD's, spend EVERY Father's Day at the ball park. At least when the players get older, Mother's Day can be spent at home because the HS season is not over.

What would be a good gift for team players to give their fathers at the park?

Mouthguards so the DD can't understand what fathers are saying about their hitting, fielding, etc... ;)
