the others are:
anderson over walnut hills - UPSET (13-1)
little miami over fairborn - UPSET (4-3)

i was most surprised by Loveland - sorry Courtney - we were hoping to see you!

all others in south are just as they should be - although i would have thought lebanon had more runs

This is an upset but not really a huge shocker in my opinion. Little Miami is a nice team and they probably should have been a little higher ranked then #19 or 20.

For the people who know Tri Valley this is no surprise, this is a very good team that played good teams during the season, it just so happens that they are the only D1 team out of the East and at 20-5 got no respect in the seeding. I was kind of surprised they got as high as #17 out of 40.

The Darby, Tri Valley game will be interesting to say the least. They are very similar in many respects. Both teams have an infield that is "lights out." I'm guessing that the pitchers don't necessarily have a lot of strikeouts when they play division 1 teams, but the infield takes care of business. I guess the winner of the game will come down to who has the better hitters. I would gather that Tri-Valley got some respect from the teams they played, but playing a schedule with mostly division 2 teams, with few division 1 and division 3 teams sprinkled in probably influenced the #17 ranking. If they go as far in the Division 1 tournament as they did in last year's Division 2 tournament, they'll definitely get respect.

Did Hudson beat Stow twice in reg. season? It's hard to beat a good team 3 times.

Ellet 1-0 over Cuyahoga Falls (mini upset?)

Yes, Hudson beat Stow twice in the regular season. Although, Stow honestly probably should have won the first meeting.

Bummer for Hudson, a team truly good enough to make another deep run. However, Stow is MUCH better than their 18-9 record coming in, excellent pitcher, great defense, good clutch hitting, very well coached. I don't know how far they will go, but they will be a tough out for anyone. Yesterday seemed like a season full of balls "just out of reach", and great plays made by the opposition in clutch moments, the reality though is that Stow was the better team yesterday and deserved to advance. Hats off to them, and their fans, and good luck.

Congrats to "Mocha" for the clutch hit for Ellet advancing, to go along with Charles' pitching. Feel bad for Amber Meyers, such a great pitcher and great person ... tough loss, good luck in college and beyond

This is why we can't get too worked up about polls. #1,..A thread dedicated to upsets, suggesting the impending doom of ranked teams, or teams with very good records who may not be ranked. You know every year it's going to happen to somebody.
