EMR 13U Barrett won the 16U division of the USSSA Early Bird Classic at Expressway park.
16U Ultimates took 2nd and Valley Storm 3rd.

EMR scores:
Pool play
EMR over NEC 6-0
Ultimates over EMR 2-1
EMR over Valley Storm 8-7
Bracket play
EMR over Ohio Danger 5-1
EMR over Ultimates 5-1
EMR over Ultimates 4-3 ITB 8 innnings

EMR 14U Sandman was playing Xplosion in the championship game of 14U. Don't know the final results yet. Bandits 96 took 3rd place

NOt sure about the 12U

OFC Heat 98 won the 12U coming out of the losers bracket playing 3 games in a row. We finished having to beat a good Westside Thunder back to back games (we were the last teams playing and closed down the park :D). Three tight games with the Thunder on Sunday with 2W's and 1L.

1st OFC Heat 98
2nd Westside Thunder
3rd Anderson Redhawks

Way to go EMR 13U Barrett in winning the 16U division!!

I think EMR 14U was playing Southern Ohio Express 14U for the championship. We (NKY Bandits 13U) lost to SOE 14U in the semi's.

I would also like to say that the touney at Expressway Park was very well run! The games did not get too far behind and the grounds crew was quick to prep the fields between games. Also, I believe that the Expressway Park fields are the best fields in Cincinnati. Great job Expressway Park!

Great job Dave and the OFC Heat 98!
I got to meet Dave at Clepper Park this past Thursday. I was there with Mstbozz getting our dd's some extra pitching and hitting work. We exchanged our OFC usernames. When I told him mine, he said "Ah, the infamous Lenski!" I asked him why he called me the "infamous Lenski", thinking it was because of a controversial or insightful post he liked or disliked, but his response was simply, "you post alot".

I guess I better find something else to do........:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, great to meet you Dave and good luck the rest of the season!

Sorry to Southern Ohio Express on mixup. Still haven't heard who won that game yet.
Congrats to OFC on winning the 12U. It was a long hot 2 days, but can't complain would rather have it hot than not.
Lenski, you are right Expressway did do a very nice job on the fields. Umpiring is improving but still not very consistant. Also very rarley ever in position to make a call.

Another thing not very happy about, with the temperature pushing 90, no coolers allowed in the ballpark. This year they didn't have the Orange coolers with water in the dugouts. 75 cents for a large glass of ice water. Not to bad of a price but pain in the a** going back and forth to the concesion stand.

Thanks Len. We should be at Clepper most Tuesdays. If you ever want to have your pitcher/catcher throw some BP for us, we'd appreciate. Shoot me an e-mail or PM if you're interested.

I also met CincyFury that day at the park - OFC'ers were running wild apparently. It is really nice to put people to the names/posts.

Congrats to all the teams in the tourney. Like everyone said, it was a burner and all the teams battled hard. Good luck to everyone the rest of the season.

I agree it was an extremely hot, sticky day. Water JUGS were allowed and there were coolers at the end of the bar. We had an incident where players in one of the dugouts decided to fish out the ice to put in towels so we want to make sure the water is staying clean. If I were you and I go to a tournament where there are coolers in the dugout, I'd check them first before drinking . We used to put coolers in dugouts even for leagues locked in boxes when we first opened almost 30 years ago and it was something the board of health frowned on and told us to discontinue.

Umpire evaluation cards were 90% positive. Anyone that would like to read them is welcome.

Can't keep that stuff a secret.

Was in Marysville this weekend and they had walking tacos but they used that liquid cheese instead of shredded real cheese. That's just wrong!

I thought Expressway put on a well run tournament this weekend. Like Len said they have the nicest fields in the Cincinnati area. Was a fun weekend!

Thanks Charlie... looking forward to catching more of your games at Heatin' It Up this June. The teams look pretty intense, but i know you'll have your girls ready to go.

Thanks Eric... Your girls played hard all weekend and never let up. Being the first tournament they have seen, they did tremendous and are fundamentally solid. Being as we are both Eastsiders, let me know if we can ever help you out.

Great tournament this weekend! Congratulations to the OFC Heat in the 12U division. They played well to come from behind. Southern Ohio Express had a good showing. I was proud our girls were able to come in and play some quality teams. We are a very young team.

14U Southern Ohio Express worked back from the losers bracket to play EMR in the championship game. Express showed great heart playing 6 games in a row. They took the first game and EMR won the deciding game. The 14U division was very competitive and pretty well matched for the division. Congratulations to EMR for pulling out the victory.

Nacho cheese or shredded cheese its up to you. We have both and the girls should ask you when ordering which you want on your walking taco. You can load it up or make it simple.

Once again thanks for all of those who played.
