If you are still a viable team come this fall and not one of those blowhard "gonna kick your ***" type team... get back with me after the season.. sigh... where do these people come from????
This scout team will consist of local talented athletes, therefore it is always a first year team as each year there will be new players. We are definitely not a program such as you mention.
The opponents don't have to necessarily be "elite", we are just looking for good competitive teams to play in the fall to get everyone some good, worthwhile repetition.
Thanks for your interest. I will be in contact at the end of the summer.
You are asking for ONLY elite, established opponents.....but aren't you a new team??
A scout team/exposure team will always be a new team as every year we will be looking for new players to get them some college exposure. This is the first year for the scout team. We will mostly play college programs but in the event that we have a few weekends open, we will be looking for other local opponents to get some good competitive games played.
did some one say elite ? Elite ?
anyway whats a scout team ? I'm no rookie but never heard the term.
A scout team is sometimes also called an exposure team. There are other organizations much like ours in other parts of Ohio doing the same thing. We are trying to offer equal opportunities in NE Ohio. The team will be comprised of 18-20 local athletes looking for college exposure in order to move on to the next level. We play games against local colleges in NE Ohio, NW Pennsylvania and SW New York along with a Fall Showcase tournament to get as much exposure as possible for these young ladies.
Elite is a term thrown around quite loosely these days. I do not use "elite" in order to reference this scout team as the same. I use it in a way to attract competitive teams to play some fall games. My apologies for misuse of the word.
They are a baseball organization that decided to get into fastpitch softball too?
You are correct. Aspiring Athletes has been in NE Ohio for approximately 5 years promoting youth baseball opportunities to develop college athletes. A few baseball dads with softball daughters brought to our attention that there was a large opportunity to expand into the fastpitch market. This is the first (nearly) full year and we plan to build on it for years to come. We have a growing full time softball-specific staff working alongside the baseball staff to deliver the game equally to young men and young ladies in NE Ohio. For those that do not know,,, Aspiring Athletes is one and the same as OHIO SPORTS PARK......Need I say anything more....................
Aspiring Athletes is independently owned and operated by a staff completely separate from the Ohio Sports Park. Just like many other teams who call a park or a certain field "home", most of our teams do the same with the OSP by renting the fields. We rent other outdoor facilities just the same as we do the OSP. Your confusion might be in that one of our indoor facilities, HITS, happens to be in the building owned by the same gentlemen that owns CVC/Ohio Nets and the OSP. We rent the HITS space in the building from the owner just like we rent the outdoor fields at the OSP. We are in no way related to Mr. Vassil from an ownership standpoint.
