I see there are about 8 or 9 decent mitts out there for first base. Any recommendations?

This is what we've ordered. See if she likes it.

we have a mazuno that I got three years ago. It has been used as a catchers mit, and fielders glove. Everyone that uses it loves it.

this one? I didn't see it in my searches before - looks neat. It's a shame we can't go to any local stores and see these things.

Both DD's have TPS firstbase mitts the eldest just finished high school and used it since she was 12 so as far as durable these gloves are tanks.

Nokona makes a real nice one. Breaks in pretty fast too.

Have a Mizuno first base mitt, works well. Also use it to warm up pitchers.

I bought this from a company that has free two-way shipping and a 100 day return guarantee. It's a surprise, I hope she likes it.

Sounds like Ball Glove Warehouse. They have a good selection, and great service. Their prices are good too, but as always, do cost comparisons beforehand to make sure it's a good deal.

Ball Glove Warehouse has been good to work with. We ordered a couple of gloves turned out our girls thought were too heavy once we got them. They took them back and paid shipping for the returns - no hassles.

Yes, I just was amazed at their service. :) The price was very competitive - this appears to be the most recent model from Mizuno. I couldn't find a lot of reviews on it, but I do like Mizuno gloves generally.

The site says "you can even oil and break in the glove and still return it if it does not fit to your liking". Can't wait for her to try it out in practice etc with absolutely no risk to us!
