High School Coach with No Respect or Morals?

I've taken a team of girls for several years now into Kentucky to play Softball each Summer and this year being no different, with the exception of course that the team must play up in what is called the "Open League" there is no age limit.

But the biggest difference this year other then the "Open League" is that the team I coach is faced against some of their own High School Team Members and their Head Coach who is a Player/Coach on that Team. I thought to myself Wow! what's up with this lady she can't let the H.S. Season go, She's actually Coaching, Catching, and Pitching against the High School Players that she will be coaching again in the Spring, talk about animosity in the air you could cut it with a knife.

Needless to say their are several of my players parents that are upset with this situation and with her actions that they have been taking Digital Photo's of her in the games should anything arise from this.
I'm fully aware of the OHSAA June 1st-July 31st 10 day limit. But I think she believes she is fully immune to these Rules, and who knows many she is. But I personally think that it is "Very Disrespectful" on her part to pit her H.S. Team against each other and her being one of the players.

FASTPITCH! Anything else, And you're playing too SLOW!

Who would care. It sounds to me like it should all be about fun. Why so serious???

Why would this create "animosity"? This is league ball. Go out and have fun, worry about your own game and forget about who your opponent is. I mean, really, what's at stake here- an eight inch gold colored plastic statue instead of a six inch gold colored plastic statue?

If anything, it sounds like this would foster some good old fashioned friendly competition. Most kids would think it was cool to play against their coach- and maybe even get the best of her.

I wonder what the kids think about this set up? Are they upset, angry or hurt by it? Or is it just the parents that are bent out of shape?

Our HS Coach could probably play pretty well still and I would think something like that would be a HOOT! Nothing like be able to COACH as well as DO AS I DO. As long as the girls are seeing it in a healthy manner, I say, "PLAY BALL"!

So OHSAA Rules and Regs. don't apply here?

Well, sure the OHSAA Rules and Regs apply, but you haven't given enough facts for us to know whether this coach has violated any of them. How many of her HS players are on her summer team? How many contact days is she having with those players? Is any other member of her HS coaching staff having contact days with those players?

Not sure how it applies to summer regs, but open gym/open field rules allow coaches to participate as long as they are not coaching.
