After a tough 1st day EMR wins 4-2 over Riptides then get Lasers Black 1st game of single elimination and win 5-2

Wow! That is amazing the outcomes of these games! It just goes to show you the strength of all the teams! You need to bring your "A" game every time. It doesn't matter how many times you have beaten someone, it can haunt you!

unreal . Doom 96 finally gets a W over laser black after several ITB games with them, Then EMR beats laser black and doom gets upset by the Riptides ? Is that all correct ? MD

MD yes first win against Black since GAPSS last year and then we may as well went to the plate with no bats in our hands against the Riptides because the way we were swinging it would not have made any difference at all.

The girls finally put together 3 good/complete games in pool play and looked to be getting on a roll. That all changed in bracket play. Congats to the Riptides on the win.

Congrats to Doom 96 and EMR on two well played games. We were outplayed this weekend across the board by two well coached and disciplined teams.
Hopefully, we will learn our lesson that this weekend has taught us and bring our best to Fire in the Sky.

My hat goes off to Vipers... (Although, i don't wear a hat) Coaches and girls are a class act! Mother Nature stopped play in the Semi-Final game for us (Magic 14U) and Vipers; unfortunately, the weather caused the tournament to be stopped. We were up 5-0 and Coach Randy Allen shook my hand and awarded us the game. Randy is and his girls are a tough team and we always enjoy seeing them on the field! Great Job Vipers!
The Championship Game between Magic 14U and SDS was decided on a 2 out of 3 coin toss. Magic 14U won the coin toss and was awarded first place. Coach Chris Cain and his girls are a top-notch team and Magic looks forward to a friendly in the near future.

Congrats to Del and his Magic 14U team on winning the coin toss that decided the Championship. Decideing a Champion by a coin flip is a tough decision. Both teams played great all weekend. I'm sure we'll see each other down the road.
Congrats to my SDS girls for playing hard every games this weekend. There were a couple games where our backs were against the wall and they kept swinging and keeping their composure. Way to play ladies....
I would like to say on a side note..... this weekends umpires were some of the worst I have ever seen. I seen 3 homeruns (OVER the fence) ruled as doubles because the umpires "didn't see" them go over. 2 of these were in our games. We also had one umpire tell one of our players that it was "illegal" for her to swing and time the pitcher while she was in the on-deck circle. He told her it was grounds for ejection......

I also wasn't overly impressed with the umpiring in general this weekend at Heatin' It Up.
At least they did see the home runs our girls hit over the fence.
