10U Coaches' Poll - Week #9 (6/27/10)

i actually forgot to vote the last two weeks for no other reason than tuesday nights we practice and many times i forget. I agree that if a team wants to be mentioned here, and receive all the valuable gifts and perks that go along with it (right ring?), they have to sign up for quality tournaments. This means lots of travel at the 10u level, hotel stays, etc. which can sometimes be a difficult sell to parents. All these teams are good, and in a timed out game anything is possible.

On another note I gotta see the flatscreen with the broomstick through it!! I'm laughing because i've found myself in similar situations where i finally say, "this isn't a good idea let's go outside....." Ace next time use athletic tape and a little pine tar for extra grip.

Xtreme Heat is going to WFC World Series in Myrtle Beach 8/2-8/8. Got the berth for ASA Eastern Nationals but this seems a lot more fun for our families.

You just want to go play in the sand and make sand castles. :)

I scoped it out. Competition is tough. Pool play games during the week are over between 10am and noon. Rest of the day is ours...

Don't let the WFC name fool you. They do have some great competition there. Was one of my favorite WS. we stayed right on the beach and the park was less than three block away. They do have something called a "base bandit" that adds a unique twist to the game. If you have a fast kid, you'll make hay with her as the bandit.

That way the community can get their hands on your tourist dollars. And I have NO problem with that. Hit all the go-karts, putt-putts, beaches and seafood buffets you can get your hand on Tony. I hope you all have a GREAT time :)

We did earn a berth to ASA/USA Nationals in Chattanooga, along with berths to the ASA Eastern National and the NSA National, but we have decided at this point to go to the Eastern Nationals this year. I have been seeing somethings posted and said about York, PA, however, the 10U has moved to Mechanicsburg and it is a much better area. Based on recent converations with tournament organizers, interest is really picking up for 10U. If planned right and mix in some fun family activities with some good softball, your Nationals trip can be a really enjoyable family trip/vacation. I think that if teams don't have attending a National as one of their primary goals, then they are missing out on a great potential experience.
