this should have been made after GAPSS. i am very impressed with ohio ICE and both lady lasers. all of these girls are extremely fast and turn regular singles into doubles or ttriples. i am also a little impressed by explosive fastpitch who tied for 3rd with ohio ICE and beat HoO NITRO and OHIO DANGER there too. the dragons are pretty good too.

Looking at this list which ones are mostly 98's that are listed? Who will be strong 12's next year?

Is there anyone not listed that should noise next year?

Where is North Coast Spirit in this poll? Hard to believe that they didn't get any consideration.

Okay then based off of this poll and the comments we have in no particular order:

Laser Red
Hawks
Classics
North Coast

Gotta be some other strong 12's out there right? Who else will give these teams a run for their money? Let's hear from some of the 1997 teams, who are the strong 98's you have played this year that are not on this list?

I think there should be one last poll. Huge tournaments were still to be played after the last poll came out. GAPSS fielded alot of talent in all age groups. The Lasers swept the competition in all age brackets. All Sanctions Tournament at Berliner and so forth.

The Laser Purple in 10u are tough to beat. Can't believe their 10's.

At 12U based on their performance at GAPSS I would say the Laser Orange should be at the top. Orange shut out the ICE 1-0 and Laser Red 3-0. If you shut out those teams all I can say is wow.

At 14U I would have to say the Laser Gold are in a class by themselves. The Intensity based on what I have seen of them are very good as well.

At 16U Laser Scarlet are a solid team as well as the Buckeye Heat. Throw in the Laser White and you have a trio of teams that could be each other in any given day.

Predicting who is who next year is speculation. Teams still have to be formed. Too early.

the Nitro will be back and strong as usual... I look forward to battles with them and the Lasers Red next season. We will return every player for the 3rd straight year and they should be a tough group of girls once again.

Lasers Red
Ohio Hawks
Stingrays
Ohio Classics
Cincy Static
Miami Valley Xpress
Nitro
Ohio Wave - Fisherback

These are a few teams that I know will be hard to beat next year. I am sure I have missed a few. Ohio Danger should be pretty strong as well.

I have to give a shout out to our Static '98 team as one of the top 12's next year as their record this year was something like 39-16 playing mostly second yr 12's. Les has a very solid core coming back w/ two very strong pitchers & from the pre-registration I have seen for tryouts, he will have some very tough decisions to make.

After having such a successful season as a young 12U group, it's hard to imagine the Laser Red not being dominant next season. In addition, I can see the Hawks '98 squad being a very tough team to beat for next year's 12U field.

I'd also say Lasers Red, Hawks Black, Nitro, and Classics. They are all extremely tough.

I would have to say the top 12u's for next year will be:
1. Laser Red
2. Hawks 98
3. HoH Nitro
4. Classics 98
5. Static 98
6. Stingrays 98
7. OFC Heat 98

this is my opinion and based only on teams I've seen play. Sorry if I left anyone out. :).

Great to see teams within the same organization supporting each other. My dd was a sub for the Cincy Static '98 in the 11U WS. They have a great group of players, parents & coaches & will no doubt be a strong 12U team.

We're also very proud of our first year 11U Buckeye Heat team, winning 70% of our games, against mainly 12U teams. I'd also have to credit the Dragons '98 as a talented, fundamentally strong group.

Will be fun to watch the continued growth of all 11U teams going into next year!

staff22,

Les & I was just talking yesterday about your '98 team & how impressed he was w/ your daughter as a player & in particular, how advanced she is as a pitcher. Thanks for subbing w/ Les in Akron - we appreciate it.

Good luck to your daughter & the Heat '98 team next season!!

Yeah, the Heat 98' should be tough.

I won't comment on my team because it's not becoming of me to do so... nor does it matter to me. I predict that the Lasers Red will be the most consistent and most dominant... then the rest of us unless some shakeups occur within other teams or a few key pickups occur. I'm sure the ICE, Stingrays, Hawks, Dragons, Classics, Nitro, Heat, and I'm sure others will be in the hunt. Will be fun as always.
