2011 ASA "A" Eastern Regional Qualifier
Hosted by: The OHIO WAVE Fastpitch Organization
Formerly the (RIP-IT Challenge) Ohio Wave Fastpitch has decided to change the name to the Summer Smackdown. Over the years we have hosted some awesome teams and we have always worked hard to provide a great ASA "A" Eastern National Qualifier. With this being the weekend that the summer really kicks into high gear we want to make this event one that teams from the Tri-State area want to attend. This a true Double Elimination tournament after the pool play so teams will have the opportunity to battle back if they had an off game.
The tournament is hosted by OHIO WAVE Fastpitch and run primarily at the Stebbins Field Softball Complex in Greenville. It is one of the finest softball only complexes in the state, and with the addition last year of the indoor restrooms (heated and air conditioned) and awesome concession stand it has been kicked up one more notch.
This tournament typically fills quickly and we expect 2011 to be no exception. If you are interested please submit the registration form and confirm your spot ASAP. Multiple berths will be awrded in each age group for the 2011 ASA "A" Eastern Nationals.
ASA "A" Eastern Regional Qualifier Tournament
Cost $400 per team
4 GG (weather permitting)
10U / 12U / 14U / 16U Age Groups
2 umpires per game / every game
Umpires are provided by the Darke County Association. In the last year this association has really made an effort to raise the quality of umpiring in their association. Members have attended the ASA umpires training in Cincy and other locations. They have daily pre tournament meetings to discuss wierd calls, issues, rules interpretations, etc. After each of our tournaments, the umpires met to discuss issues, conflicts, rules, AND umpire conduct that occured during the tournament. I am confident that the umpires that step on the field will provide a quality game.
Winner and runner-up will be awarded a berth to ASA "A" Eastern National
Teams must be ASA sanctioned and be able to show proof of accidental & liability insurance at check in.
Pool play then seeding into Double Elimination tournament bracket play
Team and individual trophies for 1st and 2nd place.
Please note: The bye in the 14U bracket will be given to the #1 seeded team with the fewest runs allowed. The other #1 seed will be placed in the lower half and the bracket will then be populated accordingly.
