Dear fellow Players and Parents,
I say this is a true, genuine spirit of love.
Our two daughters both played D-1 college sports.
Playing college sports is very difficult and demanding, both physically and mentally. At both schools our daughters played at, sports 'did' come before academics, in an indirect way. Just be prepared for that, so you are not too surprised, or, get too discouraged if it happens to you or your daughter.
Both of our daughters endured some form of abuse from coaches and/or players. It's a tough world out there. Again, I say this not to discourage, but, to give you wonderful student athletes a heads-up, so you don't feel too surprised or alone, if it happens to you.
There are lots of politics in college sports and coaches are under extreme pressure to win, and raise money. Some of you will be more talented, than the girls who are playing/starting ahead of you. Hang tough! God is in control and has a wonderful plan for your lives. Keep the faith.
But, through all the joys and sorrows, our daughters learned V
ERY valuable life lessons, that have helped them out immensely in the 'work world'. And, it did help them in their job search tremendously as well.
Go for it, give it your best shot, and stay hopeful and encouraged if things don't go as hoped/planned. For '
we walk by faith and not by sight'. That's a 'CHOICE' (decision) that you can make, regardless of how you 'feel' or what happens to you.
CONGRATS to all!
