The Ohio Thunder 007 team will only be doing private workouts for any remaining spots they have available!!! You need to contact me by call/text, or email to attend one of our practices!

Ohio Thunder is now looking for Players, especially Pitchers, for the 2016/17 season!!!
We are planning on putting together a Top Level team & are wanting to start preparing our potential pitchers & players now!!!
We are not looking for any players for this summer's season!!! We are looking to hear from potential players who will be 10U eligible (Preferably born in 2007). We have the resources to help any girl who has the potential & is interested in pitching. As well as working with hitters & fielders over the next few months.

This team will be coached by Russ Smith, President & Co-Founder of Ohio Thunder. I have decided when I finish this summer season with my 18U team that I want to go back down & work with the girls at the age when they are really grasping for knowledge & help them become better players & young ladies. I am proud to say that between this season & last I will have coached 14 girls who are continuing their education & playing college softball!!! I also am proud to say that I put together the original Thunder 02 (who finished ranked #1 as 12U team in July) as 8 & 9 year olds.

Also helping to coaching this team will be Cliff Killian. Cliff was co-founder & first President of Queen City Ultimates in 2001. He later started the Cincy Storm organization. He has been involved in Fastpitch Softball for over 40 years as a player, umpire, & coach. Having also served as Mt. Notre Dame HS Head Coach. 87 young ladies who have played for Coach Killian have went on to play college softball.

Both of us are eager to work with the younger girls & train them to play at the highest level.
There will be No Daddy Ball issues. We will begin Open Workouts in late June (after most's 8U seasons are over) to help prepare players for Try-outs! We will have Open Try-outs in August in preparation for 2016 Fall Ball & the 2017 season. We have our own indoor facility that our teams use year round.

Any DD's looking for pitching instruction, we will have current high school pitchers, college pitchers & former college pitchers offering to help in preparation.

Have had many emails & text regarding our location..........
This team will be based out of the Mason/Kings Island area! We have our own indoor facility just 2 miles from Kings Island.
I have enjoyed talking to many parents & am looking forward to seeing the potential of some of these girls!
I received a video of an 07 Slapper yesterday! She looked Awesome! This will be a fun & exciting team!

We are looking to have our first group workout in approx. 2 weeks!!!!

We are going to keep these workouts fun & just see the potential of those interested.....We are very excited & looking forward to these.

Our plan is to have another workout right after Independence Holiday. My older team will be playing in Florida in mid-July, so we will have a couple of workouts when we return.

My 18U team just qualified for ASA/USA Nationals, so we will have our First Formal Try-out at the end of July, before we leave for Nationals. We will fill remaining spots when we return on 8/7!!!

Saw some great talent! Looking forward to the next one!

The Ohio Thunder 07 team will be having Try-outs on Wednesday, July 27th at Heritage Oak Park, 4601 US 42, Mason, Ohio 45040 at 6:00pm!!! Registration will begin at 5:20pm near field #1. Pitchers & Catchers will be asked to stay afterwards for evaluation.....

We will also have a Try-out on Sunday, July 31st at Heritage Oak Park from 4:00 - 6:00pm. Registration will begin at 3:20pm near field #1. Pitchers & Catchers will be asked to stay approx. One hour afterwards for evaluation.......

Our last public tryout will be Sunday, August 7th at Heritage Oak Park at 4:00pm to fill any remaining positions. Pitchers & Catchers will be asked to stay after for additional evaluation. Registration will begin at 3:30 near field #1.

Each girl should bring all equipment needed (glove, cleats, bat, helmet, catching gear, etc.) & plenty of water/Gatorade to stay well hydrated!
We ask that each girl wear ball pants or sweats to all tryouts.........We want all girls to arrive early enough to be warmed up & ready to go at start time!

We will also take an 06 Pitcher to lead our pitching staff!!! If someone wants to make a name for themselves & play with an awesome Defense behind you - this will be the team to do it with!!! Can guarantee there will be all kinds of 12U coaches seeking you to anchor their staff next year!!!!
