I do hope whom ever is in charge of the umpire grading takes a goodlook at the cards. 6:30 game saturday night we get called for 2 illegal pitches in 5 pitches, walk out and meet with both umpires and asked what the problem was and the plate ump calling the illegal pitches says she cannot go to her glove to get the ball, not go to her glove twice but she cannot go get the ball out of her glove and the field umpire said to him and I that he did not know why the first illegal pitch was called and that you are wrong, his partner, a pitcher has to be able to go to her glove to get the ball to pitch so there for everything was over ruled by the field ump and the plate ump agreed with him. Again, pitcher was never going to her glove twice. Now the 9:30 game was even better. First problem was girl swings and ball comes off her chest, rolls down her leg and off her toes into fair play and beats throw out to first, nobody else was on base. I understand that the plate ump might not have seen that but if no other runner is on base where is the field ump looking, here goes - enjoy this, I do not know where he was looking on this specific play but I do know in about the 6th inning of the game I believe it was our shortstop that fielded the ball and threw the girl out at first and guess what, the plate umpire had to call her out because the field ump was motionless with his head down and his arms crossed on his belly, you tell me - was he a sleep or not? I never said a word and the plate ump did it so quick that I do not know how many people seen him that way but our first baseman said we needed to keep an eye on the field ump as he was sleeping while she was laughing. I think I have seen everything now, maybe not, Who knows.

We saw great umpiring all weekend UNTIL the 10u Championship game. Although, this game went 13 innings, there was an ump substitute in around the 8th inning and the quality of umping immediately increased.

GREAT JOB WAVE. ANOTHER SOLID TOURNAMENT PROVIDED. ^_^!

Agree 100% Officiating went from a "D" to an "A" around the 8th inning. But, bad calls were delivered many times to both sides in the first 8. My advise in the dugout between innings to my team, "Don't leave it up to the umpires!"

Other than those first 8 (out of 13) innings, the officiating was AWESOME all weekend long. Too bad I forgot to turn in the last report card after the championship game in all the excitement.

Just wanted to jump on here and tell you that Renee Lovett from Lima Perry was the winner of the top gun fastest pitcher with a pitch of 58mph. Not bad for an 8th grader!! We are very pleased that she decided to play for the Force Organization and we are sure that the best is yet to come from her and she really inspires all the younger pitchers in the organization.

Nice job to all teams for a great weekend of action. Some really great ball being played at all age levels for early in the season.

Mitch, Yes, she is a very nice find. The gun we used was Dave Fisherback's and he checks it against a number of other guns for accuracy so I would be pretty confident 58 was 58. It was very nice for our kids to see that caliber of pitcher this early.

For the 12u Top Gun, that went to Cincy Doom 97 player Mackenzie Rieck. I believe she threw 56 on the gun.

With the 10U game going extra innings, did the tournament use the international tie breaker or just continue to play as normal?

We started ITB in the 8th inning. After 7 innings it was a pretty low scoring game. Not exactly sure but I think it was like 3-3 or something like that. Anyway it was a great game by two nice teams.

6 innings of ITB with a run or two scored in almost each one. Very exciting game.
