Pitching and Pitchers Discussion 10U/12U Pitching speed and rev's

The speed of the 10u pitcher is really based on her height, the weight of her shoes compared to how many times her dad yells, “stay tall Sally” during each inning. Now, revolutions is based on how loud mom is yelling “have good leg drive Sally” which is also directly proportional to the amount of humidity in the air and the amount of fire flies and mosquitoes in the direct path of the ball that it has to cut thru on the way to the catchers glove… please note: If it’s a full moon the night before everything else means nothing and the speed of the pitch will be 5 times faster than revolutions per 10 feet of distance from the mound to the plate. This is only in travel ball and rec ball has its own formula.

Ok, I see everyone made this post into a joke, I think the poster was just looking for a legitimate answer probably more from a pitching coaches perspective.

Coming from a 12U's pitchers dad, this is actually quiet. If you think what is said is a joke, look into previous threads (if the bugs were removed) about this age group and pitching and see how serious it had gotten. When my dd was 9U, she threw 33. At 10U 38. RPS, I don't know. I have the revfire now, and her numbers are sticking between my dd, me, her pitching instructor, and her coach if he wants them.

Sorry....couldn't resist some wise cracks. In all seriousness, my daughter used to pitch, she threw 47mph as a ten yr old. But was all over the place. She's a catcher now( dare ya to try and steal )..... I saw a girl last year from 12u jaguar's who may have been hitting 60mph! Impressive! Never clocked her just guessing, she could bring it!

Saw this one 10U pitcher at Buckeye Showdown, forget the team, but she threw this knuckle ball that we just could not hit. It was so slow it looked like it would drop to the dirt about 5 feet in front of the plate. We didn't play them, just was catching a game between my DD's 12U game.

we faced her at Nationals. Very strong pitcher and she was for sure taller than me (not saying much). My guess is she threw 53-56. Not the fastest we faced all year but nearly.

Some other flame throwers last year were with Classics 98, Valley Extreme Warren, and Lasers Grey. The young lady from the Lasers probably was the fastest we faced all year.
