Anyone watching this game would have seen what a remarkable showing of pitching it was! One of the best pitching duels I have seen! 32 strikeouts total in this game Lightning 17 allowing only 1 runner on base Valley Force 15. Hats off to both pitchers it was amazing to see the determination from both of them! Valley Force Pitcher is no joke!

The SGS Shootout in Toledo was rain shortened. The Northwest Sliderz made it thru pool play unblemished with 4 victories.

Sunday, bracket play, was shaping up to display some pretty darn good 10U softball but mother nature had other plans. The Northwest Sliderz was crowned champion of the SGS Shootout by earning the number 1 seed from pool play.

Congrats to the Roadrunners and Beverly Bandits this weekend at Stingrays and Lightning Gold with their championship at the Sizzler. That Bandit and Roadrunner team are a carbon copy of each other. Tough outs 1-9 with great starting pitching. Great Job Girls!!

In bracket play, Stingrays04 and Lasers Gold04 met early in the round of 16 and had another classic game with the Rays winning 4-3. That place was packed and I couldn't believe how many people were at that game!!! Great Plays all over the field for both teams. Ran up against the wrong team after that emotional high. That Bandit team got us right after that.... Wow, those girls ran the count deep every at bat and had multiple double digit pitch at bats.

Stingrays04 immediately departed to Myrtle Beach following our loss in Stingrays to participate in the WFC Summer Nationals. Week long tournament here in MB, then back to Columbus for a few days before we head to ASA/USA Nationals in Normal, Illinois. It's been a great Summer everyone and we wish everyone good luck and safe travels in your final tournaments of the season!

Thunder Elite 04 had a great time at the mighty Stingrays Showcase. Props to the whole Stingrays Organization, players and families for all their hard work at the 10u Coffey Road Park...especially in the rain delay. I will say that probably my favorite part of the weekend was the 8+ team group cheer during the rain delay. It was truly awesome to see. It really puts into perspective why we coaches do this and why the girls love to play this game.

As for the on the field play, the talent there from 5 states was amazing. My team battled hard all weekend and ended up making it to the Final 4. I am so proud of my girls. We simply ran out of gas against the Roadrunners. We had an overall record of 4-3. Here were our results.

Hey there wondering why this is the final week, when a lot of teams are playing in NSA, ASA nationals over the next couple weeks? Some teams are also doing out of state tourneys over the next couple weeks, also.

Was not best weekend we have had but again we took every 04 team down to the last at bat with a chance to win. So I blame myself and my prep work of the girls for those tight situations. We will improve on that.

We are a true 05 team and my pitchers and catchers are 05. We look to add 3-4 elite players this fall and go after the best tournaments in and out of the state.

Win vs. Ohio Storm. this game had a little bit of everything excellent, crazy, hard fought game on both sides. It was a shame someone had to lose this one.. 11 innings / 3 hours long took all we had.

Overall it was a great weekend, had the chance to see a lot of great games between some really good teams.

We really played well this weekend. We knew we had our hands full facing Jackson in our first bracket game (after winning our pool and getting the bye in round one). Jackson not only has good pitching, but they can hit top to bottom. The girls had a blast and the 8 team dance party during the rain delay was made for a very fun, memorable moment.

We have 2 more tournaments to go - Hopes Turn at Bat in Mayfield next weekend and then finishing at All Sanctioned World Series at Berliner.

Lasers Gold went 4-1 at stingrays this weekend. We got Stingrays 04 first bracket game and as always it was a great game we just fell short with the tying run being thrown out at home in our last inning.

Good luck to all the teams the rest the way out and see you guys back on the dirt early September. Also had a few posters asking about our pitchers, the ones that pitched in Stingrays were 04 Pitchers.. 70% of my team are true 05 Players.
