Mike Homan w/ Ohio Outlaws Premier
I would first like to say congrats to all of these Ohio teams making their rounds and competing! I enjoy seeing every ones results on Facebook or Tournament apps - keep working hard as the North East is so underestimated. Its great to see everyone out there competing early and getting these reps in for these hard working young ball players. At the end of the day, everyone wants to compete and win games but remember coaches why we are all here - its for the kids. 99% of us coaches do not get paid for what we do, we do it for the love of the game and the kids, as competitive as everyone wants to be, make sure all of our kids are smiling, making memories on the field together because as these kids get older and mature, the trophies, plaques and rings will just collect dust, but their memories with their friends and coaches will last a life time!
As for my team, we have traveled quite a bit through Fall, Winter and now early spring including trips to Tennessee, Michigan, Indiana, Alabama, Georgia and continue to play in our own State of Ohio when we can. We have had our ups and our downs, just like everyone else. We continue to play a tough, challenging schedule and will continue traveling through Summer to keep pushing these kids trying to mold them into better athletes both on and off the fields.
We have a combined record of 57-16-2.. we came back this last weekend from PGF Michigan after losing a semi-final game to Team PA 4-3. We led the entire game, made a few mistakes and in the end, we got beat. Hats off to Finesse Bragg - his team played lights out, had a great showing and continue to earn respect across the state, great showing and weekend for his team. Also seen Valley Extreme had a good weekend making some noise vs Silver Creek - Perry, Ohio Hawks and Coach Donaldson had a good weekend in Indiana at the Invaders Invitational, Tallmadge Force continues to work hard and are on the up and rising as well. Phantoms & Ice have been playing well I see also.. another team that is a sleeper is SGS Magic Red - watched these guys in Michigan over the weekend, great group of players and coaches - congrats to them on a great showing as well at PGF. Lasers I believe were supposed to travel to Indy as well, ended up not going, but again another top tier team who plays very hard and competes night in and night out.
I wish everyone the best of luck this upcoming season, keep representing Ohio and working hard out there!
