Sapphires softball is all about theimportance of: Attitude, Team,Competition and Knowledge of the game of softball. If your daughter is offered a spot on our team you should know that the coaches are committed to participating in competitive tournaments, teaching and providing the young ladies on our club with opportunities to challenge themselves as individuals and as a team. All of which is to ensure we create a fun and team first environment for the girls.

At most any age, the fundamentals of the game remain the same and,as coaches, we will work hard to ensure the girls learn and grow from every practice and game time experience. The coaches also know many girls at this age are playing multiple sports as they try to find theone or two they will focus on as they get older. We welcome the opportunity to ensure that Softball is a wonderful experience for the girls on this team and something they will always look forward to participating in.

The staff will put a schedule together that balances our desire to compete, and play deep enough on Sundays to give the girls a great opportunity for more dirt time. We will only play in well established tournaments known to the staff or those that are held by clubs that we have familiarity with. We do this to ensure the girls andparents have great experiences with tournaments that are quality events.

We will play predominantly local ASA/NSA Tournaments and most likely one overnight tournament, perhaps two depending on team performance. We will play at least one fall or winter Tourney as well in 2013.

We are looking at playersfor all positions and multi sport athletes are very much welcome. Coaches will make arrangements as necessary for private tryouts up until we finalize the roster . The team has 2-3 openings amd including an additional pitcher to complete the rotation.

We are interested in developing the girls first. We also know that all participants have a desire to win. We will balance this by moving girls around abit more in pool play yet on Sundays positions and playing time will be basedon performance. This includes expectations that all Sapphires girls compete with respect for the game, never quit, and are committed through what they do and say to be the best athletes and teammates they can be! As coaches itis all we can ask.

2014 Tournaments: The tournament schedule will be made up of 7-9 Tournaments. 2014.The team may also play a fall or winter tournament.

Sample Tournaments:
Valley Extreme ASA (Cortland, OH), McMadness ASA (NorthRidgeville), Maple Leaf NSA (Burton, OH), Akron Sizzler NSA (Akron,OH)

Practice: We will practice once a week for several weeks in the fall and winter and pick up an extra practice as we get closer to our season. Location for the vast majority of outdoor practices is Cascade Valley Park in Akron, 1199 N. Cuyahoga St. Akron, OH 44313. We will also participate in optional batting instruction along with our older teams with well known hitting instructor Bob Hoilesduring the winter.

Parent Involvement: Whatwe ask of our team parents is simply your support. Your girls will play against top competition and we are all here to make the most of your daughter?s softball athletic experience. Parents are asked to support the club and help their daughters by making sure they get to practice and tournaments on time. Parents areexpected to cheer the team on and make sure their kids stay focused on the game and coaches, doing their best and forget the rest!! :yahoo:

Anyone who is looking for a team that will challenge and teach your dd to perform the game of softball at a high level should give this team a look. Coach Dean has been in the game for a long time and is coming from an older 16u team back down to 11u. His knowledge and ability to coach are second to none. If my dd was younger, I would want her to play for him! He is an outstanding coach/person who teaches the game the right way. He is putting together a group of very talented young athlete's and you won't be disappointed with this team!
