14U TRYOUTS
Akron/Canton Area
Ohio Panthers 07 will be holding public and private tryouts for next season over the coming weeks. We will have a tryout Wednesday, July 21 (6:30-7:30pm) and August 4th (6:30-7:30pm) at Sisler Park (760 W. Nimisila Rd) New, Franklin, OH 44319.
We can also schedule private sessions at the Hall of Fame if needed.
Over the fall 2020 - summer 2021 season our record was 60-15-2 (formerly Manchester Pride 07). We were involved in league play and tournaments winning 5 tournaments and 2 league championships during this span.
More important than wins is a group of girls that have been together and are looking to take their game to the next level and work hard for each other.
Due to high school limitations and some girls potentially moving up, we will be holding tryouts and all positions will be considered with an emphasis on an additional pitcher and catcher.
The bulk of our season will be tournaments in June and July with additional tournaments and games throughout the year. Our goal is 6+ tournaments during the summer.
Assuming scheduling remains consistent, we are looking at:
⁃ T- town Showdown (Tallmadge)
⁃ Sheer Madness (North Ridgeville)
⁃ Loudonville
⁃ Fire in the Sky (Orrville)
⁃ Buckeye Showcase (Columbus)
⁃ Ohio Emeralds (Canton)
⁃ World Series (Columbus)
We are in the process of scheduling weekend games with other local travel teams in the fall and look to play in a spring/summer travel league as well.
We encourage involvement in school sports and realize there will be some conflicts outside of the summer tournaments.
We have access to indoor facilities and have outdoor field access in New Franklin, OH where we typically practice twice per week.
We will have a pitching coach working closely with the team. The goal is to develop catchers who understand situations and can call pitches. We want pitchers who are comfortable “calling off” a pitch based on their lessons and experience.
