Cost: $150/team (make checks payable to "Optimist Club of Bazetta/Cortland")
Two - 90 minute games w/OHSAA softballs and two umpires
Weather permitting - 100% refund if all games are rained out
Four groomed fenced fields with 100' field tarps
Concession stand available
Port-a-Potties
Max. 16 Teams (Will try to have teams compete in same HS Division)
Event Timing (two teams on each field will be required to play back-to-back games)

-11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. - Game #1 (1 vs. 2)
-12:45 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Break #1
-1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. - Game #2 (1 vs. 3)
-2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Break #2
-3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. - Game #3 (2 vs. 4)
-4:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Break #3
-5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. - Game #4 (3 vs. 4)

HS Teams:

We are adding four more spots. These teams would play two drop dead 90 minute games under the lights on Field #1 and #2. At the conclusion of the first game two teams would switch fields and then play another 90 minute game.

Do the HS teams already not entered have concerns with the time schedule for playing under the lights? I could start the entire event "one" hour earlier, and shave "5" minutes off of each game. Then the final game under the lights would end around 8:40 p.m. versus 10:00 p.m.?

HS Teams:

I'm going to change the timing to open the schedule for four more teams. The scrimmages will be 90 minutes and be drop dead. I will be instructing the umpires to speed up play based on the following:

1. Scrimmages will start at 10:00 a.m. versus 11:00 a.m.
2. Break between scrimmages will be 10 minutes versus 15 minutes
3. No warm up balls in the infield and outfield after the 1st inning
4. Pitcher gets five pitches in the 1st inning and two for every inning thereafter.
5. Catcher must remain in gear between innings unless batting, base running, or using the bathroom

The last set of doubleheaders on field #1 and #2 will conclude at 7:50 p.m.

Here is the new schedule:

9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. - Team Warm Up
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Game #1
11:30 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. - Break #1
11:40 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. - Game #2
1:10 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. - Break #2
1:20 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. - Game #3
2:50 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Break #3
3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Game #4
4:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. - Break #4
4:40 p.m. to 6:10 p.m. - Game #5 (only on Fields #1 and #2)
6:10 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. - Break #5
6:20 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. - Game #6 (only on Fields #1 and #2)

The sun sets at 7:44 p.m. on this date so we might need to turn the lights on for a few minutes.....

By making these changes we will only play for an hour longer than the original schedule, but will provide slots for four more teams.
