I can come up with at least 2 reasons why they might not be a waste of money ... looking forward to the discussion!

Posted in another thread but this one seems to be getting more attention for some reason! ;) So here's some more info about tonight's show and what else we might be talking about, time permitting ...

Join Ricky, Coach Joe and me this evening at 9PM for the softball zone radio show. Jenny Dalton-Hill is unable to join us tonight as she will be busy with the SEC tourney. We'll talk about the 10U and 12U polls which come out today, any Players or Teams of the Week (thus far, I have not received a nomination so it's wide open), our upcoming championship broadcast at the Celine Wyatt tournament, The Softball Zone article of the week, the fill in the blanks below, and anything else softball that you want to talk about.

This week's fill in the blanks ...

1) The one thing that drives me crazy that I see coaches do is ________________________
2) The ideal number of different pitches a pitcher should throw in a game is _______________
3) The most important ability or quality a lead-off hitter should have is _______________________
4) I wish there was more ___________________ and less _____________________ in the Forum

Darn, wish I would have caught this. Would have loved to hear discussion on this!!!
just curious because our travel organization (Freedom Elite) and I feel the opposite! Chasing A bid to Nationals is a waist of time and Showcase Tournaments are where it's at to get your kids college coach exposure and offers. Proof in the pudding... My DD was offered D-1 complete full ride to Pitch from being seen 6 times at Nashville Elite showcase and a couple times at Scenic City the week before. (Also went to camps) 5 girls on our team have committed and 4 more have several standing offers... The results from doing 7 showcase Tournaments last year and not waisting time and money chasing a National bid!!!
Not saying this is only way but the record and results speak for themselves!!!

Tanker ... while you can always listen to the podcasts at the same link above, we really didn't get much into it on this subject last night ... we ended up talking about some other things and ran out of time to get into a full discussion/debate. Expect much more on next week's show. While I haven't heard most of Ricky's points yet and I will admit I have mixed feelings on the subject, I know one of the points I have heard from some of the "experts" out there is that showcases aren't preparing players to play the meaningful, competitive games that they're going to be involved in when they play in college. I know that's a subject that can be debated in itself, but just sharing what I've heard some others say and have made me stop and think a little.

What were the 7 showcase you attended in 2015? Another question what camps did you attend? And one last question, what sanctioning body hosted the showcases you DD attended?

Freedom Elite 16 U Showcase team.
Like I said, Scenic City and Nashville Elite Showcases were two of the best and biggest.
Actually, Recruitfest in Columbus was very beneficial as I have a photo of 7 different college coaches watching one of our games there last year. Many coaches bounced back and forth between Recruitfest and Stingrays. Another good one was USA Premiere Showcase in Owensboro. , Ky and PGF Midwest Firecracker in Indiana. And USSSA Summer Showcase in Gulf shores which we are defending Champions! As for the camps, the camps before the tournaments so the coaches notice them and talk, then come watch them in tournament games...
We are adding Massillon Best of the Best this year...
She also went to NFCA camps in Columbus which were excellent! Measured stats that you can use on profile... As well as the all Star Games at night at Recruitfest were heavy with coaches... We had TONS of college exposure and continuous communication with many coaches. Like I said 5 committed and 4-5 more with several offers... If playing on front of a college coach (coaches) that are specifically there to watch you is not competitive and prepares you for college I don't know what will...
