Hmm. Trying to help people understand that 10,12 year old girls are just that 10,12 year olds. Seem this is becoming a (Slam) on some 12 year old children and their choice to be 12. Kinda getting a bit crazy. No sour grapes.

OK, Guys, I'm thinkin' that the Sheriff should definitely close this one down. These kinds of specific references to teams by name (for example, post #78) are almost always accompanied by virulent language, ad hominem attacks or snarky attempts to damage the other organization's reputation. When I first got into Ohio fastpitch, lo those many years ago, I hardly ever visited the OFC site because it was substantially composed of mud-slinging, somewhat wild accusations, and on-going feuds.

I'm all for the marketplace of information, but there is a difference between stating a fact about another team and using this forum to suggest unestablished facts or thump one's chest at the expense of criticizing another organization. Unfortunately, most of us can't pull off the "factual reporting" without driving our own personal agendas.

Do the DD's who read this forum a favor by leaving the personal attacks and unestablished facts for PM discourse.

Ten years ago OFC was NOT something that I would have wanted my DD to be reading. Let's not take it back there by letting our egos overwhelm the main purpose of this board, which is to support, promote, and improve Ohio fastpitch.

Well said CGS could not agree more! tryouts are right around the corner and the competitive spirit is among us ADULTS. In trying to defend the kids lets act like adults......JMO

BTW: I'm rubber and your glue :p

Musty,

I had to read this sentence twice because I thought you snuck one by the censors.:lmao:

Don't join a team, promise to be at practices and games then break that promise with some bullshilt about they need to be kids

Probably shouldn't have done that. Kind of defeats the purpose of keeping it G rated when you do things like that. Me bad.

Rereading that post now and I see how cranky I was. Pinched a nerve or something in my back and found how much that hurts. Blinking was the only thing that didn't. Sharp pains when you moved and throbbing when you didn't. Sitting was very painful and I had a 3 1/2 hour trip north to Orrville coming up at 5:30 Friday morning. Moving my foot from the gas to the brakes brought tears to my eyes. Thank the Lord for cruise control which helped. When we got there I didn't think I would be able to get out of the car. I found something that hurts a lot more then kidney stones and I didn't think I would ever find anything more painful then that. Must say I made the trip with no drugs. :yahoo:

First, there is no "Bieber Fever" going on in our house!! ;)

However, this is often a debate in our house. Softball is no longer just a summer sport. August try-outs, Fall leagues and tournaments, year long hitting and pitching lessons, winter practices, winter tournaments, school ball conditioning starting in fall, school ball try-outs, school practices, school schedule, then right into summer..... then start all over again!

Our kids are committed to the sports they play, our FAMILY is committed with the time and money we put in year round. Our kids have missed family functions, many parties and outings with friends, school dances, hanging out by the pool and numerous other things so they can play ball. They can't go swimming early on practice days or do anything else that will tire them out for practice. We plan EVERYTHING around ball.... and for the most part that is okay. My children love to play.

If I am told that we have a weekend 'off', you bet I am going to try to make plans to do something else. If a coach has a breakdown in communication and doesn't let me know right away that he/she is changing the schedule, I won't feel too bad about going ahead with our other plans if they are unchangeable or a once in a lifetime experience. That is on the coach for not communicating with the team.

I don't understand trashing kids and parents for trying to live a rounded life outside of softball on a weekend that they thought they had off.
