all decade team

Not sure if this has been done before or when the decard starts or ends for that matter! Since things are slow I thought this topic would be a good one. Who would be your vote for all decade players from 2000-2010? Try to put together a team by position if possible.

The old timers should be able to have fun with this one.

You mean for travel ball? This would be really hard, as there really aren't any reliable stats to use and very few people have seen even 33% of the possible candidates. Some of the players I might think of for a high school all-decade team wouldn't necessarily rank as high on an all-decade travel team based on what I saw.

I did watch 16-U and 18-U for almost all of the decade until this past year or two. Based on that, just thinking of some of the best players, I'd have to include Courtney Pruner, Dee Dee Hillman, Kate Leary (she might have been more 90s), Meghan Rowlands (maybe she was 90s, too). I don't know, I'm sure I could toss several others out there, but that's who sticks out most in my mind right now.

Thanks Joe! Maybe we could call it a mix of HS and travel ball accomplishments. The majority of the kids I have watched play over the years are now in HS. I know some that should compete for the next all decade team.

One I would throw out (from my area) for this all decade team would be Justine Shilt. I am sure there are many from the class of 2009/10 that belong on this list.

Well, I'd nominate Tess Sito, and probably a couple more of her Sundog teammates.

Tara Dill of Keystone. I would say starting as a freshman for an SEC program is a good recommendation.

A decade team will be pretty tough to weed thru. Problem being that when your 12 u you really have no idea who the studs were at 18u. And after the dd graduates you lose track of who the newer studs are. I cant tell you very many names of girls that were before 04.

I guess you have to look at their total impact between tb and hs, the ones that stick out in my mind Bodecker, Schwable, Bonner. The most recent would be Sito.

Now how you decide between kids like this to create a team is beyond me, good luck lol

I know there are some really good players missing from this, but this is pretty good overall. Katie played high school and travel I think entirely in the 1990s. You could throw in Kate Leary for her, who is the same age as Eneix. There are some others from the early 2000s such as Julie Boies who was fantastic, Katie Maynard, Chelsea Baker and several more. I hate to toot my old travel team's horn, but with some of the names that are out there, I think Brooke Morgart deserves a mention. She was probably our offensive leader from 2004-2008 and is now playing at OU.

I'll 2nd Brittany Vanderink. If she got on base you were in trouble. Which she did about 60 to 70 percent of the time. Steal 1st steal 2nd bobble ball at home run scores. Can't think of many others I would want at the plate needing one run.
