The best tip I can give is find a pitching coach and pitch 3-5 hours per week outside of any practice you have year round. Thats what my daughter has done.

I agree with the others, if you are serious about becoming a pitcher, you need to find a pitching coach. ?I don't know how old you are, but I don't think any girl at the jr. high or highschool level can expect to advance without professional assistance. ?There are several pitch-coach services around (some already mentioned in this forum), but another place you might look is if you live near a college or university. ?Some of these coachs will give private lessons for a fee. ?Be prepared, though, since these can be quite expensive (about $40/hr) and you usually need to bring your own catcher (can be dad/mom, or other). ?Some girls split an hour lesson with another girl, who will switch off catching and pitching with them, to keep the cost down. ?And be ready to commit to this being a major part of your life, since it also involves lots of practice time on your own and working out to build the right muscles involved, etc. ? If this all sounds like something you would love to do (like isn't going to be enough), then GO FOR IT!!!! ? Best of luck in the future.

Find yourself a pitching coach. What part of the state do you live in? One of us may know of a pitching coach in your area.

Also, I would try and find a travel team of some kind to play with in the summer. This will help you become a better all-around player. It doesn't have to be with organizations like the Lasers, Buckeye Heat, Stingrays etc... It could just as well be a community based team in your area. ;)

From your sign-on name, I'm guessing that you are 11 or 12. If that's right and you really want to pitch at the high school level, you do need to get a coach very soon. Let us know the area in which you live.

Les Randolph does a nice job at any level. I think he is still at Grand Slam.

You might also want to check with your high school coach to see if they know anyone.

Everyone has given you excellent advice. Here is a web site that I think you and your parents should look at and read. I have a 12 year old DD that read all the articles and got a better understanding of what is required . www.pitchsoftball.com/page8.html The first page covers pitching speed and radar guns. Excelent on what an average pitcher's speed is. It walks you thru the basics and what you, your parents and the steps of getting a pitching coach. Kindle.a ( thanks) you posted this on another web site , best web site that my DD has read and could understand (written so anyone can grasp). She has worked with Bill Hillhouse, and this gave her more insight of being a pitcher.
