My 13 yr old dd has had her 32" Easton MAKO 2015 -10 (orange bat) for almost 2 years now and now I am thinking she needs to get a new one so she can get it broke in for the spring and summer season. One thought is she likes this bat and it performs well so should I just upgrade to a newer Easton bat like the 2016 MAKO (light blue bat) or is the New Stealth Flex worth the money (Is it any different then the MAKOs)?
Another thought is to switch brands like a Demarini or LS which she might like and perform better with, but she would still use the orange Easton for hitting practice and use the new one in games so would this throw her off if she used 2 different brands of bats.
Also, when do you upgrade to a 33" bat? She is 5'-6" tall.

Thanks

I have heard that the 2016 mako is the same bat as the 2015 just with a new paint job. Everyone says DeMarini and LS are the best but I don't think they r any better then the Easton mako. Not sure about the new stealth flex if any different.

Why change? If she likes her bat there's no need to "upgrade". Besides, when a new model comes out it's usually just a new paint scheme like said above. As far as switching to Demarini or LS all I can say is get whatever bat your daughter likes. Do not listen to anyone anywhere about which bat to buy. Buy the bat your DD feels the most comfortable with. There are plenty of places to demo them to see what she likes. Asking someone which bat is better is like asking people who has the best pizza. You're gonna get different opinions.

These bats are pretty hot right out of the wrapper so I wouldn't worry much about a break in period.

There is a lot of swing variances between the bat designs that you need to take into consideration. The multi piece bats generally do not swing the same as a single construction model. Also, where the weight is located can cause a younger player to struggle or have to make other adjustments so you have to keep that in mind if you are looking for something different than what she is currently swinging. (a change in design/model result may not be a good one).

At 5.6 if she is a strong kid I would skip to a 34" instead of a 33". Eventually she is going to have to get use to the longer bat anyway and at 13 she most likely will be at the 34" by the time she hits HS so best to get comfortable/adjusted once.

Don't really want to change just want to get her another bat so when hers goes dead not scrambling to buy her a pricey bat spur of the moment and then shes not comfortable with it.

"There are plenty of places to demo"
Can you suggest a place to demo in Columbus area?

Thanks for the info. I think we will stick with Easton. Does anyone have an opinion about the MAKO vs the new Stealth Flex, any better/differences?
