Bidding Farewell

So as my family and I were heading south towards Georgia this morning I found myself both excited and nervous about what the future holds for the four of us. At one point, I took a peak in my rear view and noticed the blue Boombah bat bag that I had tripped over close to a thousand times in the garage this summer and started to wonder how such a simple game can be the catalyst to so many relationships.

So many people in the Ohio Fastpitch community have touched my family over the years and have contributed to the growth of my daughter as a ball player and young woman that it would be impossible for me to mention them all. We have been very lucky to have been able to be a part of the Stingrays family for the past 4 years (Thank you Bill and Jen for bringing us on board and for being such great friends to our family), and although we are leaving, we will always be Stingrays at heart. Keep pushing the girls Whitey...There is no doubt you are the right guy for these girls and I am proud to call you my friend.

Thank you to all of the Stingray parents who have allowed me to be a part of your wonderful children's lives...and have welcomed me into yours. I do believe it is harder to be a travel ball parent that it is to be a coach. Although your girls may not say it now, one day they will understand the time and sacrifice you have given to them (not to mention the cash...a lot of cash!!!) and will thank you for it. I look forward to following MY girls for years to come and you all know how to reach me if you ever make it down my way!!!

And finally, thank you to Cassie Cunningham and her girls at OWU for all of the time and attention that you have given to Bailley. Role models for 12 year old girls are not easy to come by, and to find a group that truly cares about my daughter the way you have has truly been a blessing.

Keep working hard Ohio - We will be rooting for all of you!!!

Wow Mike, I had no clue you were moving. I must say it was a pleasure getting to know you and Bailey and I know you will be missed by the Stingray family. I wish you all the best of luck and for being smart to move south, lol. Goodluck my friend and hopefully we will cross paths again.

Talk to you soon Mike. Be safe and good luck with the new job. Let us know where you and Showtime end up in the Georgia TB world. Please don't rub it in to much when we are all back here working out in MS gyms while you two are already playing tournaments!!

Matt had a 16u team two years ago. He has gotten pretty busy lately. He might get back into it. He knows everyone down there though...go figure.
