Mrs. Ringer got up at 4:00AM to go to Wal-Mart. She said it was so packed that they had to park in Staples lot next door because the entire Wal-Mart lot was full!!!! The people were crazy, tempers were flaring, pushing, shoving. She did say she got a good deal on an iPod. You tell me, $100 for iPod Nano plus $250 for bail. Doesn't sound so good to me. I might leave her in till after Christmas.

I would rather take a beating with a Rockettech from the L.A.P.D. than go shopping today.

Couldn't agree more Ringer---Ugh!!! Can't stand that kinda shopping experience (pushing, shoving, tryin' to beat someone to a certain item). ?:p

Much rather do my shopping during the weekdays on my mornings off and/or in the middle of the night at Meijer's. ?Hate the crowds ~ ?the bargains are not worth it.? >:(

Today we just slept in, had pie for breakfast, :D and gonna have leftovers later and watch movies together. ?

the wife and myself got up at 3:30, scraped ice off vehicles for 10 mins, open doors, warmed up 2 cars (different direction-more than 1 kid ya know), drove 25 min to get to store, was 756th person in line at TOYSRUS and when the doors opened, everyone bumrushed the door from across the parking lot cutting in front of everyone that had waited for 2 hours. walked in at 5:00, they only had 10 of the mp3's i wanted, i think the 755th person got the last 1, walked out at 5:05 and was back in bed by 5:35, never again..(unless Rockettechs are 1/2 price).. lol pdad7

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY :p :p :pI work for a beverage company and had to go to Target`s Andersons and K-marts to make sure we had enough product to sell and it was so busy with people. I would NEVER put myself through that kind of misery. ;D ;D ;D

my only stipulation was no cold...3 years ago we waited at best buy in the morning, froze our buns off...we waited maybe 5 minutes in the target line before bedlam began...i have to admit, it really wasn't all that bad..throw in steak n eggs at snacker barrel and lunch at max and ernas, it's been a great day without the kids..
now we're setting up lights as i run in and check on the lsu-bama game...
oh, and the lady in the jc penney line kinda smelled, that was probably the worst of my day

My daughters talked me into getting up early this morning. Had to laugh at the people in line at Kohls--the line went all the way around the store!!! Wal-Mart had a lot of people, but the lines were short. Meijer was not very busy at all. Enjoyed Starbucks!! The mall was not very busy except for Aeropostle, but there was a line outside of The Great Indoors--not sure what they were waiting to buy.

I felt sorry for a young girl who accidentally left her purse in the changing room. Five minutes and two teenages later, and she found her belongings minus her money laying all over the floor. I tried to catch up with her to give her some money, but she was gone--left the pile of clothes she was going to buy laying at the door.

All but one thing we bought today was bought at the same price that we could have got later today. Everything my daughters talked me into buying ended up not being Christmas presents--they were wearing them before I could hide the bags.

All in all, my tired feet were worth the time I spent together with my two daughters--especially since one is in college. I might be brave and get up again next year. Maybe this will be a tradition. However, I draw the line at standing in long lines, so I will just have to stop in and look at all those people at Kohls with strollers stacked high with appliances and things I wouldn't want for Christmas.

p.s. Please tell my daughter that I would like a softball t-shirt from her college for Christmas. :)

~whew~! 14 hours of straight shopping. I have a slightly turned ankle, from an old woman and her run away shopping cart, and a checking account that has suffered a damaging blow!

Husband is ticked though. No good bats out there to by our girl.

I purchased a good deal today, well Friday, and wouldn't have got the deal if i wasn't there before i went into work at 7:30. I saved $150.00 it was well worth it. The line at Best buy was long, but all in all I saved $150.00 for that hours worth of my time.

Somebody told me over the weekend that they had a friend who waited in line to get a great deal on a plasma TV, only to find out that the store had one or two on hand. So shile they were there they purchased a $400.00 playstation 3 and a few other items. We have to chalk that up to a big win for the store and no doubt this very same senario played out a few hundred thousand times across this great land. I guess that means that blak friday will be back again next year full speed ahead.
