Unfortunately, this is not a unique event...
A lot of individuals have unrealistic exceptions for their kids in sports and/or take out their own personal issues on their children.
With the Holiday season these event becomes more familiar outside of sports.
Two weeks ago there was a young mother early 20s cracking an 18/24 month old on the backside in JC Penny for who knows why.
After about 5 Min of the child crying and mom continuing to administer corporal punishment I stepped in and naturally I was the bad guy but she stopped hitting the child and left the store.
There was 40+ people standing around and everyone was just watching in amazement...If more people step up or step in situations like this may not be the evening news.
The parent / parents in question may be a great and just overcome with stress and made a poor decision however, in this case I could tell mom knew she made a poor choice as she left.
